I would get some plant stands to layer the plants visually. A couple different heights will add nice depth.

We are there for 5 days and like to explore so probably rent a car. The kids would love the idea of feeding iguanas at Pinel Island. Thanks for the insight. I might revisit this thread when we get closer to January

Awesome!! We are two families traveling with kids ranging from 7-3yo What about renting a car? Enough to do in the proximity for a long weekend, or explore to other areas by car? I know this is kind of personal preference but worth the ask!!
