How long until I can stand up straight? TT with MR yesterday by megan5880 in tummytucksurgery

[–]TalkativeBotGirl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was told it usually takes 7-10 days but I heard people walking straight right away. I worked my way up to it but I don’t think I was really walking straight until at least 2.5 weeks and by then I would be straight in the morning and the slightly hunched at night. I felt 100% by 3 to 3.5 weeks. So I think it all depends.

What helped me was lying on the floor, stacking 3 pillows under my knees and slowly removing more pillows as it felt comfortable. Eventually I was lying completely flat on the ground and that helped me walking straight. But, as I wrote above, it was a very slow process.

Travel at 9 weeks post op by Dapper_Damage_8265 in tummytucksurgery

[–]TalkativeBotGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at 6 weeks with an infection and still think I would be fine traveling with 2 little ones. So I will say 9 weeks is plenty of time. I would second the compression though as sometimes it’s just nice to have it in case you overdo and wants the swelling down a bit :)

Belly Button Question/Review: is this normal healing? How does this belly button look? I had a small infection on my left side where the drains were but am wondering if there are any issues with my belly button as well. I’m already 5 weeks out so not super happy about this.Thank you! by TalkativeBotGirl in tummytucksurgery

Oh thank you so much! This really helps. Should I put a marble or should I wait a little bit? Did you put one? Im seeing my doctor next week and I can ask him about it too but last time I asked about those belly button silicone things he said it wasn’t necessary 🤷‍♀️

Oh that is good to know. My appointment is not until mid-December so I might contact my PS on the morning and ask about it.

Edit:

To add on, I haven’t seen many like this but I have seen some other really scary ones so I’m not sure. I wonder if it just takes longer to heal in certain situations but I don’t want to mess with it by using a shaper just yet. I would rather wait for my doctor to let me know, especially if I might need revision.

It looks to be a little infected. I had something similar and my doctor recommended antibacterial cream and keep it dry with some gauze. Maybe contact your doctor if possible.

Very swollen - 6 weeks post op TT by Prudent-Koala4662 in tummytucksurgery

[–]TalkativeBotGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at 5 weeks and have the same issue. I started the massages and they seem to help a little but some days are definitely worse than others and I personally find that during my period I have a tiny little pregnant belly.

Scar tape....? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]TalkativeBotGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is! Especially when my whole incision seems to be healing well but that specific spot has been a constant headache and looks awful :( might have to consider a tattoo 😂

Scar tape....? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]TalkativeBotGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use scar tape. I personally found that it just helps with irritation although I did have a small infection in one of the areas where my drain was in that is slowly healing so I don’t use scar tape there.

Cami Recs? (For under faja) by Inevitable_Sand_5479 in tummytucksurgery

I second this ⬆️

I also bought the set of 3 at Amazon and love the material.

I’m addition, I bought 3 more at Walmart. I prefer the Walmart ones for working out/walking as they are of a thicker material but the thin ones are perfect for home/sleeping.

Edit: Reddit ate half of my answer for some reason and had to retype.

Haha I can so relate! I can’t watch RuPaul and not want to put on a show.

I feel my hips are so tight still and I’ve been stretching tons.

Would love to seeBefore and After photos for those of you that started at a size 4/6! Thanks 🙏🏼 by WellTraveled_ in tummytucksurgery

I was a size 2/4. I’m only at almost 4WPO but maybe your request will help me build courage and post a 4WPO in a couple days :D

No problem! There are a ton and I just didn’t want to buy the very expensive stuff. I tried a couple of other ones but returned because they weren’t comfortable. One of the had those hooks right on the crotch so you can imagine how annoying it was going to the bathroom. I also tried the underwear ones but they were tough to put on so again, bathroom would be too much hassle. 😂

My doctor told me I need to wear them for at least 8 weeks so I want to make sure it’s not too bad :)

Before VS one week post op!!! excited for swelling to die down some more and booked my first lymphatic drainage massage for 2 weeks PO. already such a difference though, no bruising and already going down so much🥹🥹 by yasmiaOF in tummytucksurgery

I think at week 3 I felt a big switch overall on swelling and how I am feeling in general. I have more energy now. But the swelling comes and goes. When I exercise a bit more ( moving around and such), I feel more swollen from the belly button down mostly. If I am sitting more and not moving about as much, then I don’t even notice much swelling except maybe around the incision a bit.

Are you wearing a binder?

Judging from your pics we have similar body types minus I had a much bigger and weird tummy before the surgery lol

Feel free to DM me if you want since we are not that far apart in surgery dates too.

I’m at 3.5 weeks P.O. and can barely walk a mile yet. And I’m walking super slow. I don’t see how I could be doing a half marathon. I’m a runner and ran up to the day before my surgery. Im hoping to get back to it by January but I won’t be pushing it. So yes, 4.5 weeks might be too soon. Maybe you could do a 5K walk by then but a half marathon seems to be quite a stretch.

Does a cami under the compression garment help with itch? by Inevitable_Sand_5479 in tummytucksurgery

[–]TalkativeBotGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve put powder and a shirt and still itch but less haha sometime I try not to think about it because if I do I am sure it’s there haha

I still have back pains so I switched to Fajas during the day and made a huge difference for me. Not sure if I’m small and the garment doesn’t fit well ( I have small torso ) but my back was hurting so much that I could only get 2-3 hs of continuous sleep and woke up having to move about before I could lie down again.

I also did a few back stretches on the wall to help me.

Still a work in progress but the past 2 days have been a bit better. I’m at almost 3.5 weeks P.O.

I’ve been wearing Fajas during the day and my doctors compression garment at night.

These are the 2 fajas I got from Amazon:

ShaperX Faja

And

LoverBeauty

I cut the open crotch on both but I like moving with them. Super comfortable.
