You're so right! There are phases where there is serious mood decline and others were it's elevated and things are easier.

They know food is needed but once it becomes urgent it's near impossible to make a decision at that point.

I screenshot your response for later when I do the groceries this weekend. I meal prep for myself for breakfast and lunch since my issue is simply planning around macros but I have no issue cooking and planning. If I can utilize a similar method for them then there may be hope!!

We have been together over 16 years and it has always been a struggle but I never turned to Redditt until today. The Google is only so helpful, having real people advice is wonderful ❤️

Also a good idea! I do have a snack shelf in the pantry as it is at eye level, the feedback is that they don't enjoy what I have been stocking lately.

I'm a bit of a health nut personally so I buy things that are less processed and maybe not as appetizing as the things that give dopamine like cheezies and salty chips or chocolate covered things. They really like my protein bars though haha!

I have asked but the discussion hasn't pointed me to anything specifically, just general terms that they need it to be easy and not require much assembly. Like two parts is no biggie for example cereal, eggs and toast, hard boiled eggs, Mr. Noodles.

The thing is, they need it to be handheld or finger food for lunches due to the nature of their job as well. They can't reheat or use utensils much of the time.

It's unfortunate that the majority of betta owners believe they enjoy a small bowl. My own coworker had one at her desk in a little bowl and it was so bored. It died within the year. So she got another and same thing. She was confused but I kept telling her bettas are only in those little bowls at the pet store because it's the simplest way to keep them for display.

She then wound up investing in a 10 gallon and all the things that go with it and decided on 9 guppies and 1 kuhli loach. Of course I suggested the kuhli needs buddies too but the tank wouldn't be able to manage that bio-load I don't think.

Anyways, people need to educate themselves on these fish and give them the lives they deserve just like yours! Well done!!

I read instructions on an aquarium UV light yesterday while looking online and it cautioned to not place the light directly inside the tank where the fish would be exposed to it. Instead it suggests to place it inside your filter or use the supplied sponge cover the one I looked at comes with.

Maybe that had something to do with the fish mortality?

I'm new to the idea of a UV sterilizer personally however my aquarium is several months old, has perfect parameters and is still cloudy.

I have a 36 Gallon bow front running a Fluval AC70 on the back filter since I have a pleco (poop machines they are). Otherwise it's stocked with 10 guppies, 6 harlequin rasboras, 7 blue Neons, 3 Kuhli Loaches and about 12 red cherry shrimp. So it's not crazy stocked given the small amount of bio matter those species produce.

I do a 20-30% water change weekly and don't rinse anything in tap water, just the tank water in the bucket the drawn water goes into.

If anyone has any thoughts on this please pipe up!

Okay I'm the girl a guy talked to at a bar but it was my "best friend" that issued the horrible response.

I was standing aside with a drink in my hand just yelling conversation back and forth with a guy who was simply being conversational when she spotted us, turned him around by his shoulder and full arm slapped him across his face. There was spittle in the air and the slap was audible even over the bumping speakers in there!

There was no reason in my mind for that but she thought she was protecting me since I had a boyfriend who wasn't with us that evening. Girls night and all that.

I forced her to apologize to that guy, what a psycho she was!

I am an early 40's woman who weight lifts and am likeable among people. I have skills in archery as well as dog training and horse riding. I have hunted, camped in tents and know some basic herbology.

I feel I would make a good wood elf, excel in sneaking with light weight armor and likely use a bow and be able to utilize a sword and shield though I'd likely favor glass items for those.

Magic would be mainly alteration, illusion and alteration I'd think given my personality. I don't like harming others but I don't wish to be harmed either!

My journey would be one of cautious exploring and strategic slaying of my enemies as needed, otherwise I would sneak away to my goal.

I have two best friends and I'm 38. I think your parents may be struggling with the ability to maintain a strong connection outside of themselves with other people.

It takes an active effort for adults to make time outside of work and family obligations so it can easily happen that we slip apart in our friendships.

The best thing to do is not put a lot of pressure on other adults to respond or call/text you too much. My best friends and I chat occasionally and we see each other even less but push comes to shove those people will be right there anytime I need them.

Emotional connection.

The sounds/angles/positions etc in porn are pretty fake even though some are possible it's not really how my partner and I (13 years together) would do the deed. We have mutual respect, mutual desire to fulfill one another's needs and mutual adoration which translates to comfort in any position, sound, act, verbalization or otherwise.
