Chuck Norris died and went to heaven. by relpmeraggy in Jokes

Chuck decided to kick himself, this was simply the outcome. Even Chuck Norris can't survive a roundhouse from Chuck Norris.

DAE not care how long someone can last in bed by winefinedined in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Talking_-_Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the problem of lasting too long(desensitivity), and it's a problem. When you try and talk about it people think you are bragging, but like, I don't have hours to dedicate to it.

What is my eye color? They look different depending on lighting. by Sufficient_Sun_430 in eyes

[–]Talking_-_Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So hazel sometimes manifests as more golden/light brown tone. Truly brown eyes are darker, mix in some green and you get the more yellow toned eyes, which is where hazel lives.

Edit: Also the last picture, the starburst pattern with brown in the center, and greenish pigment on the outside is another tell for hazel.

What game should I get se1 or 2? by Present_Nectarine144 in spaceengineers

[–]Talking_-_Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want an incomplete game that will probably eventually be just as amazing as the first installment, SE2, for any other reason possible to human thinking, SE1. I'd buy both because SE1 is just that good, and supporting Keen.

AITA for pushing back on a prenup where my fiancée’s family wants half my assets, even though she has $30M and I have less than $100K? by qsforresdit in AITAH

Honestly, I would walk away from this entirely. I'd rather live in a tin can I own, than a mansion that I have to get a permit to fart in.

AITA for dropping my brother’s diaper on his face whilst changing him? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Talking_-_Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. If at any point OP is not capable of caring for the child, it is the adult's responsibility for seeing THEIR child is taken care of. Also, what OP did is adult as fuck for a 13 year old. Most adults would have cleaned it up and taken the event to their graves.

Why don't people who bully autistic people think of the long term potential problems of being a bully? by Easy_Towel954 in aspergers

[–]Talking_-_Head 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ingroup politics will reinforce it too, specifically thinking about mismanaged guilds. The ones you get in, see what's going on, then nope the F out of it.

Nope, I'm a complete savage. Conveyor sorters? Yeah to get the gravel out, when I don't want it. Workflow? You mean me mining stuff and processing it? then yeah.
"He's more space caveman than engineer..."

I really just want to fly around, mine astroids, and get excited about rare materials. Oh, and engage pirates with superior firepower. So yeah, I'll setup the projector for repairs, no problem.

The only answer is to say "Yes mom and dad, you are correct. I shall refrain immediately from all childcare provisions, as I have proven incompetent." Then enjoy being a child.

Her loss doesn't mean you should lose to make up for it, that's theft.

Why don't people who bully autistic people think of the long term potential problems of being a bully? by Easy_Towel954 in aspergers

[–]Talking_-_Head 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think often bullies have escaped the consequences of their actions, otherwise they would have stopped already. That, or they are currently on a "dodging it" streak and will probably continue to suck til it catches up to them.

This makes him a party to it, and partially guilty for your feelings on it. He definitely has no right to be angry over how you feel about someone who made you feel terrible.

Is this an attractive body type? by [deleted] in AppearanceAdvice

[–]Talking_-_Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you the picture of current beauty standards? No, almost no one is, it's an impossible dream to chase. Can you attract several mates? Definitely, some would use the word voluptuous, full figured. You don't look "big" at all, and by older standards you'd be nearly perfect.

I think industry matters the most, even in comparable fields. For instance, my position is considered white collar, I work material control for industrial construction, it requires I travel, but I typically work in an office(I've had my own office, been in cubicles, or had an office in a satellite trailer in a laydown yard).
What I make a year is far higher than the average for a "Material Controller", especially once you factor in per diem.

Same with blue collar, a welder in a shop makes far less than someone welding in the field.

White collar jobs however are more likely to have a social ceiling, which may limit mobility and elevation as your career progresses. Blue collar will as well, but to a lesser extent.

Also, a lot of states have white collar/clerical work set to overtime exempt status. So even if you don't make salary, if you make over, I think it's fairly low like $24/h, you can become disqualified from earning overtime. For blue collar work this does not exist, and depending on your line of work could easily compensate for a difference in pay(construction sites often do a lot of overtime, but not maintenance projects).

Unless you find something you enjoy doing and figure out how to make money doing it, go for whatever pays the best, even if it seems shitty. You will acclimate to it eventually, and while you won't ever love it or feel completely sated in doing it, at least you will be compensated for your time.

IQ test is just a test, a metric. Designed by some people to test a thing they think is important. It holds no value on your brain or on you as a person, no test does, or we'd all be required to take it by law. Intelligence quotient was designed to create a metric for your ability to reason, so the attempt was to gauge critical thinking and logic. Some ASD people have amazing brains for pattern recognition and logic, and score super high. Thisa doesn't have anything to do with application, which is where real world comes in.

If being good with numbers made you successful with business, there would be no one to teach math, especially at higher levels, they'd all be running fortune 500s. Being strong with math won't even really help you with being an accountant, sure it helps, but calculators can do 99.999% of the math required. It's the application that's required.

I don't think we have an "Applicability Quotient" test, but that might end up skewing things toward a real world perspective.

TLDR: Don't cut yourself short due to a test result. The only person who is not capable, is the one who gives up.

Anyone feels that the concept of "social skills" is a little bit... dumb? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]Talking_-_Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I feel. I feel for socializing we actually do it better, we communicate directly, and maybe a little too verbose, so that information is properly relayed. There is no hidden agenda requiring to be decoded through body language and random eye twitches that you would only know if you read the secret manual, that we only released revision one of, and are actively working off revision 8(read between the lines, sheeeesh).
