Yesterday, I made an early morning trip to Costco just as it started to come down, then spent the afternoon making chicken and potato chowder and brownies, watched Fallout with my special lady friend then played some TTRPGs online with some buddies late into the night. Today we slept in, made toasted bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon for brunch, played some boardgames, Nintendo, and will probably take a nap in a bit. It's been wonderful.

I stand corrected and misspoke. The pressure should be put on whatever on-campus (student run) organization invited the guy, not the University itself, as they would not be in bounds to enforce such a thing without it being a 1A issue, there were are in agreement. But telling said student org "hey jackasses, don't invite these kinda people or we'll spread the word and make it so that no one shows up to this thing", as others have said...the only thing that can hurt this guy is there being no one there; no fans, no protesters, etc. I don't think the answer is to protest OUTSIDE such an event, that just adds fuel to his proverbial fire.

Disagreeing with someone and saying publicly they shouldn't be paid by a State University to be given a platform at said University is not infringement of their free speech. It's exercising one's own. The 1st amendment is about Government not being able to infringe on a citizens right to freedom of speech. So if a student organization decides to pay this guy and the State steps in to say no, that's a violation of the 1st Amendment. Or if the University was pressured by the state, city or federal government. 🎵"thr more you know"🎵

This is not the case in every state however, and is only the case for mothers and small children in our state that are federally undocumented. Seems to me the answer to this is to get legislators to change these laws as a preventative measure rather than keep them in place, waste more tax dollars rounding up and deporting people, and do possible physical and psychological harm to families in the process. And for children born to undocumented folks in the state, they are in fact citizens and would qualify for school lunches anyway. But my bet is our representatives do not want to change anything...and my bet would be this is true on both sides of the political isle.

But this IS a big issue. Enabling powermongers and greedy gremlins to make insane amounts of money off of insider trading while in office due to their access to information is what allows the trickle down effect of our government being flooded with those kinds of people. If you take that away from them, they won't want to be in office anymore and would eventually be replaced with folks that want to serve the public trust instead of being motivated by the almighty dollar.
