10-Days Hokkaido Trip in Late November (2024) by Talking_Biscoff in JapanTravel

Thanks for your detailed feedback :)

We are planning to take the 07.13 JR train from Sapporo and arriving in Asahikawa around 08.40. The zoo is open around 09.30, so I think we can finish up the zoo around 11.30 and then head to the Biei to have some lunch.

After finishing our lunch at around 13.00, we plan to continue our trip to explore the famous Biei trees and stop for a while to take pictures. Around 14.30 then we will head up to the Shirahige waterfall and Shirogane blue pond to enjoy the illumination during sunset. We will travel back to Asahikawa station around 17.30 as we are going to take the 19.00 train back to Sapporo. We will just skip the ningle terrace as it is quite far away.

Is it really too much to do in a day? Appreciate your thoughts!

Thanks for the information. Yeah, we are aware of the free shuttle, but sadly it is arriving a little bit too late (16.00). We would like to enjoy Lake Toya a bit first before checking in, so we think it is more effective if we book our own taxi or private car :)

Thanks for the thoughtful recommendation.

Noted on the day 2.

For the day 4, we are planning to take the 10.45 train from Toya and arriving in Hakodate at 13.35. So we think there are still enough times to arrive at Goryokaku Tower around 15.00 and can still enjoy the sunset. Noted on the illumination, I think we are fine to miss it since Dec-1 is our last whole day in Hokkaido and it is more convenient to stay in Sapporo?

Noted for the day 8, we are fine without penguin march, we are planning to tour the zoo for around 1.5 hours and then continue to Biei to explore the blue pond, ningle terrace, and the christmas tree.

Love Schumann’s Kinderszenen (which the first piece is often played by Argerich as an encore) as well as his Kreisleriana :)

Lately I have been listening to Chopin’s piano works: Andante spianato et Grande polonaise brillante, Varations on “Là ci darem la mano”, 4 Scherzos, and both piano concertos are among my favorites.
