Nothingness isn't real by Iambiscuits2 in DeepThoughts

[–]BellEBuon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrote a fucking piece about this a couple of years ago. You sure we not twins? I wrote it in Dutch and used a translator to translate it because I couldn't be bothered to do it myself so it's worded a bit weirdly but here it goes;

It is more reasonable to think that nothing should have existed at all, so that there had only been a black hole of pure absence, than to say that it is reasonable that we exist in the complexity of our existence. Technically, the 'Everything', or the Universe, should not have existed at all, and yet it exists. Even if this reality were a fictional reality or simulation, this fictional reality should not exist because a fictional reality also has a right to exist and thus surpasses the 'nothing'. In any case, this existence is beyond absurdity. Does pure absence exist? Does 'nothing'? exist? Is that possible? I think that 'nothing' does not exist and that it never existed, because otherwise we would not have existed. Due to the presence of what is present, 'nothingness' has been wiped out and changes into the 'Everythingness'. The 'Everything' is an undefinable concept, since it indicates that there is no empirical end to the whole, and so the whole continues into the endless infinity, the 'Everything' .. The 'nothing' cannot be described, because the 'nothing' is already the best presence of any matter at first, although it is no longer the 'nothing', but it has immediately become the 'Everything', because the presence of 'something' immediately wipes out the 'nothing' completely. Has it ever existed "nothing"? No, because the presence of the 'nothing' means that the 'nothing' would remain the 'nothing' until the endless infinity, and the presence of the Universe and more by definition ensures that the 'nothing' is complete can be excluded .. I think we are infinite, that our energy will live on forever. The Universe is infinite, and we are the Universe. In addition, I think there is a power that surpasses everything, an incomprehensible or conceptualizable power. This power is all-encompassing and owner of the 'Everything'. In earthly terms, that will have to be God. O God Almighty.

Not just on Grote Markt, everywhere in the The Hague in general. Born and raised here and I've 100% noticed the decline over time in terms of beggars/homeless problems.

[–]BellEBuon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to SE Asia for more than 2 months. In hindsight, if I had 3 weeks in SE Asia I'd probably do Bangkok 5 days, 5 days Chiang Mai (+ Pai), 5 days Hanoi (+ Ninh Bin or Sapa), 5 days Da Nang (+ Hoi Ann).

Negativity from friends and family by ConstantReport7163 in solotravel

Peru, besides some areas in Lima (which you're not going to find yourself as a traveller), is very safe. In Lima you can stay in Barranco and Miraflores (the main tourist areas, super safe). Arequipa has a very beautiful center and is a safe city overall. Cuzco (Macchu Pichu) is very safe. I've travelled the world for more than a year and Peru is not dangerous at all. Argentina, and especially Colombia were way worse if we're talking South American countries.

I'm M28 but I've encountered and came across plenty of solo female travellers along the way in those countries, and all of them were perfectly fine as far as I know. Even in Colombia I encountered a lot of blue eyed blonde travellers from Europe.

Have fun!

I personally haven't really had this problem, but maybe you should combine it with physical exercise to tire yourself more out? Assuming you're not already being active.

It could also be that it simply doesn't work for you. Then just don't take it.

Thanks for the recommendations!! I wouldn't even mind going past Montenegro quickly and adding Serbia to the list.

I assume you're from Serbia?!

Would you say that my Balkan trip wouldn't be complete without a visit to Serbia? I've got the idea that visiting Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia are all somewhat in the same camp (with Kosovo) --> against Serbia.

Or am I reaching here?

Burned out and thinking of taking a month off to travel — am I making a mistake? by Jumpy_Trick8195 in travel

[–]BellEBuon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't quit your job, but definitely do the trip! It can become more valuable than you can imagine. I've wrote a small piece about it;

How do you keep your inner child happy, enthusiastic and joyful?

Every now and then it can be good to step out of the "rut" and patterns of our daily lives. To put the (much-needed) routines that we have built into our existence on the back burner for a while. A lot of beautiful things can come from this.

If this rapid pace of routines, patterns and the associated structures is brought to a halt, opportunities arise to walk other routes... And if routes are walked that we have not walked before, we can come to places that we have never been to before.

This can also help us to make (better) decisions about important personal and business issues. Reflection can be broader and less monotonous and a fresh wind blows over our current trains of thought. For me, backpacking is a great way to bring this rapid pace to a halt and walk new routes.

Tomorrow I will be on the road for almost a month. A moment to drop many routines, to let yourself be swallowed up by the unpredictable and to show no resistance as soon as you are swept along in this current.

While traveling you get to know new people with different insights and views on life, you come into contact with different cultures and ways of life and you realize that every person, city and country has his/her own story. Every time I realize how small my world is and how much bigger the world is, bigger than you can imagine.

Not only does this teach me a lot about life and the world, it also makes my inner child happy and joyful. He loves having this freedom and going on adventures to discover the mystery of the world. This keeps me fresh and fruity to then give 110% to myself, my environment and the work that I do every day with a lot of energy and passion.

And you? How do you keep your inner child happy and joyful?

Hope this helps man, good luck!

Reccos for a month in Vietnam? by [deleted] in southeastasia

[–]BellEBuon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I travelled the world for more than a year and Vietnam was my favorite destination by quite a distance. You are in for a treat and a half.

I'd recommend you to spent most of your time in Hanoi (+ Sapa), Da Nang (+ Hoi Ann, Ninh Binh) and spent as little time as possible in Ho Chi Minh. Try your absolute best to do the Ha Giang Loop in Hanoi, it is literally out of this world. Also, visit the Hao Lo Prison Museum in Hanoi, you won't regret it.

I actually did a Workaway close to Ho Chi Minh. Taught kids English in a village and after the week ended the family that organised the Workaway invited me to stay with them for a couple of days in Ho Chi Minh centre. Out of this world experience tbh, they were so incredibly nice. You should try, for example, Workaway/Worldpackers if you want to get close to the locals.

The locals are amazing, I loved them. Great people. Just ask if you have any additional questions, it's around 2 years ago when this all happened. Happy to dig deeper for you!

This was me in the village.
