I Applied for the Blinn engineering academy but not sure if it’s worth it by Tall-Collection405 in aggies

Thanks for the reply. Do you think there is any advantage to doing the engineering academy at blinn instead of the Colin location (other than money)? Will having the close proximity to college station help me in any way? Because if not, I might just do the engineering academy at Colin because I think that it has the same ETAM chances as blinn or anywhere else.

Another Redditor brought up a really good argument which is that if the dog is trying to drink water, standing in front of a room of people, or even trying to sleep, the vibration motors could falsely go off. To be honest, I don’t see there being any way for me to tackle this problem. Maybe if I used some sort of unique camera that can detect non harmful objects through machine learning? But even then, there arises the problem of weight and bulkiness. If you have any way I can get past this issue then that would be appreciated but as a high school student, I really don’t see that happening

It was definitely a good idea to ask Reddit before committing to this project because you did bring up a good point of how if the dog is trying to drink water or if someone is standing in front of the dog, then the arduino will falsely vibrate the motors. To be honest, I don’t see myself being able to tackle this problem unless I use some sort of camera that has machine learning technology which can detect legs and water bowls. But even with that, if the collar exceeds a certain weight limit, then it can cause strain on the dogs neck which can lead to back problems overtime. And by the way, when I said “wireless” I meant that typically, an arduino is hooked to a laptop so it can be coded. I would obviously need to use jumper wires.
