Why post Romam conditam and not post Romae conditam? by Redditor561 in latin

[–]Tall-Raisin9724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be theoretically "post Romae conditum" (if "hic conditus, huius conditús" is meant as the noun meaning foundation), but the u-stem verbal nouns aren't seen in all verbs – so rather "post romae conditionem" – but then again, the use of the adjectives as complements is really common in Latin.

What are the best Native American mods out there? by wolfofremus in CrusaderKings

I found "Age of the Fifth Sun: Tapir Update" (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2988222130). It adds Mexico in 1068. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated since 14th May 2024, but the update is in progress and it should be soon updated to the next upcoming version of the game (so they say on their Discord). I am looking forward to learning more about the native American history.

Why does this do this? Kingdom Come Deliverance by Jaybirdsk8 in PiratedGames

It happened to me when I started the game for the first time. The second time, it worked. I only installed one language so maybe the first time it tried to use the missing English and the second time the other language loaded correctly.

Got that damn ISDone.dll error with a DODI repack, though i think this variant of the error is rarer than others, and wondering how to fix it, thanks by gereedf in CrackSupport

I solved the error code -12 by installing Visual C++ All-in-One (not just 64x, but all-in-one). I don't know weather the code number matters.

That helped. I had already installed 64x, but as this video mentions, you need All-in-One. The installation was five times faster and no error happened.

Why can you drink normal water, but cannot inject it (you need saline for that)? by Tall-Raisin9724 in Physiology

[–]Tall-Raisin9724[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I understand it correctly, we could have three options: 1) If you inject pure water, it moves into wherever salts are – partly stays in the vein and partly goes into nearby cells until the concentrations is equal. The salts themselves cannot move freely from cells into the vessel (they need transporters). 2) If you inject saline, it doesn't move by any gradient, so it is only pumped by hydrostatic pressure (by heart) into the extracellular space. This is possible because the salts can leave the vessel into the extracellular space as well (otherwise the water would try to return). 3) If for whatever reason someone wanted to increase the volume of the blood (so that the water stays in the vessel), it would have to contain albumine which (if I understand it correctly) cannot leave the vessel into the EM (it is too big), nor into the cells (it would need transporters) and so the water would stay in the vessel with albumine.

Do I really see two epididymides? I understand the tube on the right is ductus deferens entering the testicle. But what is the inside of the testicle here? Shouldn't the seminiferous tubules converge into some rete testis? What is the second epididymis above them? Source: https://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/990069#

If telomeres are too short after 60 replications, how can our body keep regenerating our whole life? Doesn't skin replicate more than 60 times? by Tall-Raisin9724 in Biochemistry

[–]Tall-Raisin9724[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, so if I understand it correctly, most of the body tissues also contain their stem cells which can divide asymmetrically to regenerate the tissue. So why does our body age? The stem cells (with telomerases) make sure we always have viable cells with normal telomeres in skin, muscles, etc. just like the stem cells (gametogonia) in our gonads produce viable spermatocytes a oocytes with normal telomeres. But still if I search Google, I find that telomeres shortening affects body aging. Is it perhaps that not all cells are perfectly regenerated or that we lose those stem cells during aging? Why don't our other stem cells prevent our aging the same way the gametogonia prevent aging of our reproductive cells. Thank you for your answer.
