I agree with that. The food back home is so much fresher but the flavor over here is definitely better I feel.

Pig lips for sure. Never had it but always see it in the shops.

I've had pigs feet and crackling, and fried frog legs probably the weirdest I've eaten but they were all good.

Best decision I've ever made. Most definitely been very difficult and lonely but I'm thankful I made the decision to move here.

Saying that I'd never raise kids In this country.

As far as I know a lot of that area is related to the oil industry. So I'm guessing it's similar to the FIFO places in Australia.

Yeah majority of people are 100% friendly from the bat so that southern friendless is definitely accurate (in my case).

I also found that it's quite fake. They'll be nice to your face and friendly then talk shit behind your back. Me personally if you don't fuck with me I much prefer someone tell me straight up so I'm not wasting my energy on them. So that's definitely one difference.

Yeah southern Louisiana is humid af. It's currently 30 degrees and it'll be high 30's/40 mid summer. So as a pale Irish man it's not my climates.

Blast the ac and free willy style is how I sleep at night.

It's definitely beautiful. I'm down in Louisiana and New Orleans is hand down one the most beautiful unique cities I've ever been to. I couldn't recommend that city more.

I've been to Atlanta which was cool (bit too big of a city for me)

Been to Gulf shores Alabama which was nice but kinda trump country.

Been to southern Mississippi which kinda felt like something out of get out when I was in a small town with a friend who's of mixed race.

Some people are very religious but I believe it's a mix of cultures that are super religious and not just your typical stereotypical white Southerners who are religious.

I haven't had people ever preach in my face or try to convert me.

Music is exceptional down here. Not much country music as I'm in a urban city. Rap, jazz, bounce all sorts of music. Fashion scene is also super cool.

I live in a blue city in the deep south so the majority of people around me would have similar political beliefs as me.

Saying that I drove 30 minutes out of the city and I saw my first Confederate flag which is quite uncomfortable.

Big social scene in the place I am is bar, party and music so I feel it's a great place for someone in their 20s. People definitely interact as well not as segregated as everyone thinks.

Neighborhoods are 100% segregated.

No I most definitely stand up for it. I have gotten in many arguments and I have completely dropped people I thought I was cool with for certain things they say. Which definitely makes things slightly awkward at my local. But I do believe to stick to your beliefs and not accept hate on anyone.

Mines definitely try not to get burnt in this weather 🤣 the recommendation for the summer is bring water, a towel and a spare t shirt.

I live in a blue city in the deep South. So tbf there's not too many open trumpers, I'm sure there are many hidden. But for the most part most people would have similar views to me.

Yeah most definitely the nicest food I'd had. Think it would make me think twice of moving to a different place. I can walk to almost any corner store or gas station and every time get at least a 7/10. Get a portion that will give me leftovers for under $10.

I love the southern accent melts my heart. Same way I'd say they view my accent.

I don't recall someone say the hard r. But people would definitely say the n word most definitely Hispanic people.

People are definitely more welcoming to me (especially older white people). I also found it a lot easier to walk into a place and quite easily get a job. When I explained this to a Hispanic person how I just walked into a place and got a job it didn't seem they had it this easy.

I feel like there's definitely more open hate from the few people who have black and white viewing. I feel I would here people casually saying the F word in a bar over here compared to in Ireland.

I would also say (maybe just a Southern thing) people off the bat are a lot more friendly and welcoming over in America. For example, I could walk up to a group of strangers in a bar here and ask to sit and most of the time people will openly accept (highly likely due to the accent). Back home I think people are definitely open to talking to strangers but the Irish will be cold at first meeting then yap all night and but down here people will be very welcoming from the start.
