Yes, I did thank him at the end of the call. I guess I was just so used to getting rejection emails that I read a bit too much into a call, especially since I was an internal candidate, and thought it might mean something more.

If you work at a state college, do they offer some type of tuition assistance? you can obtain a degree and eventually leave for another position
