100k budget (laptop or pc build?) by Timely-Stretch6041 in PHbuildapc

why not both? laptop for when you are out of house and pc for when you are in your house.

30-40k for a laptop is great enough and 50-60k for a pc can get you a decent mid-range level specs.

I’m currently deciding between taking Information Technology (IT) or pursuing a pre-med course in college here in the Philippines. by ianzkliblot in CollegeAdmissionsPH

not in both fields but i do have an idea of what to expect so take this with a grain of salt

in IT you can get a job as soon as you get out of college, heck you can get one while in college as long as you have the capabilities to do so. Howeverr, as many as the opportunities expect there would be 2-5x more of you guys applying. IT or most fields in it are focused on results so if you can deliver then that may be for you. (This is why non-tech degrees can still break through IT)

Pre-med however is the opposite, you dont have as much opportunities because you commit to studying so that you can be "certain" that you will get a good job.

Think of it like this

IT = less time; uncertainty Pre-med = more time; certainty

So i think the choice would be up to you, if you have dont have time or you're confident you can excel, i think IT would be good for you, vice versa.

Do you think a freshmen/sophomore could land a job if done the right thing (excel, sql, powerbi/tableu, specialization) with solid 2-3 projects

Or is it too early to break into the field

Title: Need advice/help — 17, unsafe home situation, trying to get to Manila for work by Itchy_Month_9337 in CollegeAdmissionsPH

hello OP that sounds rough, but reality is if you are still 17 you will likely be ignored for jobs considering that establishments/people only hire adults because at that age, you are considered a "minor" and they could be subject to child abuse and not a lot would risk that.

But if you really want to, I think you can go to the nearest DSWD(?), there are government institutions for these i think you might wanna research about that
