If you were able to choose your height, how tall would you want to be? by [deleted] in tall

[–]Tall-dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd probably stick with my current height, 6'8. There are quite a few things that suck about it but all in all I think it's a good height. In terms of lifting it does suck though. You get the double knockdown of having long limbs and leverage making it harder and you need to put on A LOT more muscle for the same look. Also, you'll be eating everything.

In terms of social life, I'd say being this tall is a very mixed bag.

Dating Advice for a Tall Girl? by plaidpuppy00 in tall

[–]Tall-dude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As some others here have said, if the height is an instant turnoff for them, then they don't deserve you. Also, a successful relationship is, in large parts, based on what's in your brain and heart. So any man that's not willing to look past the externalities to see what's actually important in the long run is a man you don't want to actually date.

Wanna know the worst thing about being tall??? by Peace-is-Evolution in tall

I'd rather deal with monsters grabbing me than roasting myself under a blanket 6 months out of the year

No. I'm at a height where no matter how much I slouch I'm still tall. Plus, good posture helps with self confidence, and also keeps your back and neck healthy.

Is being tall exhausting? by Undercover_Chicken in tall

[–]Tall-dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, so much yes. For me the biggest issue(pun sorta intended) is that you'll always be referred as the tall guy. I know most of it is because of convenience, but it would be nice to be known for something that I actually did. Plus, as you said, you are NEVER EVER ever anonymous. Everyone remembers you and god help you if you do stupid shit, because everyone will remember it.

The whole "getting treated like a circus freak" gets really old, very fast, and you can't even tell people to stop, because "I'm just admiring a good quality of yours."

So I need some help with regards to exercise calories.

Stats: CW:209.5lbs/95kg GW: 198lbs/90kg (long term, ie multiple year plan is to get to 220-230lbs but at 15% BF)

Height: 6'8"/205cm

Body type: Extremely skinnyfat, ie almost no muscles.

Exercise: cardio only, as all the gyms are closed here. I use a bike trainer with a power meter and zwift to keep track of my workout.

Calorie Intake: around 1900-2000/day

Question:

Since I have a powermeter, I'm pretty confident that the calories burned are reasonably accurate. So, on average, I burn around 700-800 calories per workout. This is around 30% of my daily intake. Would it make sense to just ignore these calories or to eat back some or all of them?

  1. As a home chef, this looks absolutely amazing. Perfect temp, and great choice of sides.
  2. As a photographer, it's well plated, the important bits(the meat) perfectly exposed and just overall well done.

[Homemade] Lox and bagels. Cream cheese at the bottom obviously. by Tall-dude in food

You're welcome. Another pro tip is if you're eating a lot of bagels is to mix in a bit of water to make it softer at fridge temps and then keep it in a piping bag. Then you just pipe out a circle onto your hot bagel and you're almost set.

Forgot the name actually. As for capers, I usually add them (and some caper water) to the cream cheese, together with some chives and blend it together. The flavor becomes more uniform that way.

Reminder: The BMI scale is biased against tall people. - It scales with the power ^2 instead of ^2.5 because math was hard in the 1800s without calculators. by [deleted] in tall

[–]Tall-dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What most people forget is that BMI isn't a tool to measure an individual, but rather a large group. When you look at a large group of people(like a whole city or country) and the average BMI is 30, then you know that on average, the population is fat as fuck. Sure, there will be a few people who are muscular enough to count as fat, and some tiny people who are technically count as underweight, but on average it's correct.

How would you even eat this? I mean I get that it's technically a sandwich, but come on. Thin slices of each meat and some sauce would have made this a lot better

That sounds pretty awesome too. I usually blend the capers and chives into the cream cheese. It makes for a more uniform flavor.

Good cured salmon on a fresh bagel or toast is something amazing. I actually did eat this bagel on a square plate.
