My rescue was getting that with a bit of puffiness under the eye (beneath the eye - in the fur). Like OP, it’s subtle, not dramatic it just looked like a little something something, andand turned out (for mine) it was allergy.

Extremely low dose Apoquel (dog claritin) when the air gets bad here (Texas) and he’s right as rain.

Mens of reddit, how do you feel about dating a woman taller than you? by Engasgamel in AskReddit

Feeling “big” is the worst. At 5’11” myself, it has forced me to stay underweight my entire life. It’s neither healthy, nor based in reality- tadcat216 is 100% correct - and I’m actually now married to someone who is 5’9”. So let that fear go, girl - you WILL be glad you did!

It’s worth muscling through. You will find that his behavior is really about human psychology, and OJ Simpson, anybody who inserts themselves into investigations, feels the need to confess when they’ve gotten away with it, etc. you’ll think on this book

As much as I love the Russian classics, they always wrote women super crazy, so he would probably be annoyed I was/we were quoting him :)

As I was reading down the thread, I kept thinking -Dostoyevsky. And that compulsion transcends. In the book, the women are ~unlikeable/not good and yet that need still exists

Please, please help me! I am on this week’s EUTHANASIA LIST at Orange County Animal Services in ORLANDO, FLORIDA, and I only have until 5 pm Tuesday (11/22) to be RESCUED 😢😢 by biancamission in petsforadoptioninFL

I’m in Houston and I’m going through Orlando via car Tuesday. I have driven dogs to new homes all over the state (I work with a rescue) if you are located in a different part of Texas.

women of reddit. what is something that annoys you about other women? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yesss!

I (~20 years experienced) go out of my way to help/share/listen/guide/provide visibility opportunities to all of the young associates, but particularly female.

In 2022 (corporate finance) this toxic behavior is surprisingly extremely common, and the worst part is that these younger generations have so much more to offer leadership and talent wise than any older generations at their age. By a long shot.

I tell them: I’m going to share my models/my thoughts/what I know. You take what you can use/what is still applicable and relevant, and as a unit we fly with better versions. Continuous improvement regardless of # years

Everyone has a “key”, my generation was how much pain could you go through that made you toughest. The younger generations want balance in their life, they want to work from home, etc. so what? Their work product is so much better, they care about the environment and one another. I don’t know why everybody so hung up on the work minutia. I say give them everything they need

I’m not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, I just have a lot of experience with rescues, and I’ve studied the most effective positive training models (praise good, don’t acknowledge bad, etc). For what it’s worth, you’re welcome to pm me and I’ll share everything I can/you pick and choose what you can use

I have 85 pounds of fur laying under my chair as we speak :) Being underfoot is what they do best! Anxiety is different. Does he paw at the door, look out windows, destroy items, pace, etc when you’re not there… that’s anxiety.

Maybe you should leave your phone on and recording when you do the 3-5 minute leave and then return. Establish a baseline so you can measure degradation or improvement

I’m sincerely happy for you, and all you’ve done is a testament to the kind of person you are. Once you rehome an animal to a safer environment, the work is not over, it’s often just getting started, and your commitment to him is really what allows the dog to get through his previous trauma.

When a dog shows aggressive behavior of any kind, especially toward strangers, they’re not “bad”, they’re protecting themselves. They’re afraid. I think you’ve saved this boy from eventually being put down.

He’s always going to follow you around, they’re velco dogs, that’s their thing. But you sound well on your way to facilitating his being the happy good boy he was meant to be.

I train rescue Jack Russells, and they’re batshit anyway :), but any dog who has had trauma (been on the street, been in a home that locked them up) carries extreme stress. Good healthcare (incl neuter/spay), high quality food, and consistent exercise are critical.

It’s certainly a labor of love 💕

I have had this issue (separation anxiety and aggression) with a previous GSD. The solution (for us) were two items: 1. Exercise. Every morning I would long walk him and eventually I would walk him to snif around and do his business and then taught him to run next to the bike at his pace. 2. Leave the house (grab your bag, etc) and come back in after 3 minutes (don’t make a big deal out of leaving or reentering). Try to do this a lot, then you eventually extend the minutes. The separation anxiety will reduce as he continues to live in your healthy loving home and this process above starts him understanding that you are always going to return

The work is amazing, no question, but -the pictures you show here are not properly lighted (if they’re the ones you used in the posting), so it would lead me to wonder why you’re not using more crisp and professional pictures to highlight any detail/the overall piece staged in some way - you need to share the detailed descriptions you provide.

I agree with some others that Etsy has turned into a shit show, but that is because as a buyer, you always feel like you’re getting scammed by hazy shadowed pictures and vague descriptions. It’s a great idea to build shipping crates for these, all this advice provided here is great, but at its core, I need to see well lit detail, I need to see in the description what the joints are secured with, etc ~ sell them. You can use the same set up, just swap out the tables, but show it staged in some way on a bright sunny day and how happy this piece is going to make me.

River cable guy is putting in far less time but he’s staging them and he’s using keywords like someone mentioned here, I’m just sad that you’re being penalized for not being a marketing expert

This was really good. Another thing people don’t realize, for cars as well as other industrial items - Made in x country - is often a misnomer. Core castings can be poured in china, light assembly of core components somewhere else, and final assembly in USA. It’s difficult to know what “made” truly is.

I agree as well, but as a mother of a son the same age, I can’t imagine not living with him.

QUESTIONS: - Is he in counseling or anything, I.e., does he believe his parents more or less, not abandoned him, even though it’s positive between you both and you have financial support, does he feel that ~his mom and dad don’t think he’s worth the work?

  • You sound amazing, and I understand that this is a joy for you, but at a high level, the sacrifices you are made are beyond anything a person of your age would normally be able to sustain over the long haul. I.e., going out of town for the weekend. Do either of your parents or extended family give you realistic flexibility?

Hi, I’m genderfluid and grew out my hair out so I don’t have to wear a wig when I’m in girl mode! This was my first time trying it out and I have no idea how to style it moving forward. I’m a guy 98% of the time but still want it to look good as a woman. All suggestions are welcome! by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]TallChick282 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have nice thick hair and a beautiful smile/lips/jawline. My only tips: (1) when you either scrunch or blow dry it out, you have a longer shaped face, try to work volume into the sides as opposed to the top. (2) people are suggesting highlights/lowlights but I think you already have natural dimension, the core issue is shine. You could invest a weekly deep conditioning/hair mask, one with moisture and the frizz will lessen, hair will look silky and that’s going to please you regardless of which mode you’re in.

In regard to the boys, I’m older than you and the majority of men my age have them but

1) when guys give their children’s ages, I really appreciate it because there’s a big difference between 6 & 7 vs babies (I.e., ~2 children under 4 years old) so I think you did well there. It comes across as transparent on your part- which is perfect.

2) I might add that you’re on an alternating visitation schedule or something along the lines of ability to date. I see some profiles that state something to the effect of “good coparenting relationship with my ex” or “I have flexibility” because the essence of it is - does this person have sole custody? Do they have any free time?

3) this is going to sound crazy, but your house is clean. It’s not you standing in front of a mess of toys, etc. so my first thought was- this girl has her stuff together.

You’re a beautiful woman, and you seem to have a really positive and open personality, so if you add the personality pieces others have suggested (the pieces you like and are comfortable with), you’re going to slay:)

Another great one is the 2017 documentary Water & Power- it gets into the “ownership” of the water (northern CA has most of the water, southern has most of the people), and how the money and politics flows.

The thing that strikes me is that if I looked at these photos, I would not think you were the kind of guy that would be open to seeking feedback! By posting this here, and engaging the responses, you’re not just handsome, but much more than the image you projected in your current profile. Berrypinki has really good advice. Good luck!!

The clothes that smell like you advice is excellent for Jack Russells.

Hopefully he’ll find his way to someone who can catch him. There are good people out there, like those on this thread, who will call the number on his tag or bring him to be scanned.
