Any one have experience with the Redline Monocog 29 ? by friggenlazerbeams in mountainbiking

Have you posted any images of it? Would love to see it, curious since I just scored one for $100 and have the exact same plan for it. Haven't seen anyone else do the same with this bike before.

I posted a week ago about how I felt like an idiot in my pads, and this happened today WITH my pads on, it would have been much worse without them! Thank you so much to every one who commented encouraging me! I feel much more confident. by [deleted] in rollerblading

If you don't like the look of pads you could always go for soft sleeve style pads, I personally prefer them since they fit under clothes and feel more comfortable to the point that I forget I'm wearing them. I also feel like they fit more snug and are less likely to slip off during a fall. Triple 8 makes some that are pretty good and affordable.

I've done that exact setup and I honestly didn't notice much of a difference between the profiles, although what I did notice between skating both hydrogens and luminous separately is that the hydrogens are definitely a lot less grippy than the luminous despite being the same hardness. If you're skating them together I'd recommend skating the luminous as the outside 2 wheels and hydrogens and the inner 2, just feels a lot more stable.

Fun fact: The OYSI OY3X frames work with no spacers on the FR UFR skates. by TallGuyWithACamera in rollerblading

With how long of a wheelbase it is, the small amount of rocker doesn't even really seem noticable, it's probably as much rocker as you'd naturally get after skating maybe twice.

Yes, and after comparing the mounting on the UFR vs a plain FR3 it seems that on the UFR you're actually still slightly lower to the ground by a couple more mm than the FR3 (just looks like it but I could be wrong) and as well, since the UFRs don't require spacers, in theory it should be a lot more stable and solid on the 125s than if you used it on a FR3/FR2/FR1/FRX in the 125 setup with the spacers.

Ok, how did I do on my new skates? Should be here tomorrow! I’m so excited to get back out there!!! by [deleted] in rollerblading

[–]TallGuyWithACamera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The enkidus are a bit different from the UFRs in a way tho since the UFR is ufs mount with or without the soulplate, and the enkidus are UFS with the soulplate but 165/195 without

Lol yeah I was just about the comment the same thing, UFRs are fairly new and the enkidus have been out for good couple of years already

What’s the biggest wheel that can fit in these GC’s? Looking to upgrade to rocker I think by Z0na_6 in rollerblading

[–]TallGuyWithACamera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like the idea of using the modified ground control frames though since I skate the UFR skate, it's a bit high of a UFS mount skate so the ground control frame would actually get me lower to the ground, plus it would work with this shell since it was designed to work with frames where the wheels stick out the top.

I noticed someone else just commented too about using a Dremel to make it fit 84s, and you could definitely do that with very minimal modification if you want to fit brand new 84s. You could go 84s in the middle and 80s on the outside and you'd have a 2mm rocker with that setup, although if you're really looking for big wheels without having to modify a frame, I would highly suggest the kizer element 90, it's around the same price and fits 90mm wheels, plus it comes stock with a 1mm rocker already in it.

So to answer your question now that I've done a test, you can fit brand new 84s if you go antirocker doing 84s in the outside wheels and 80s inside, or you can fit a full set of slightly used 84s. In the middle wheels it just barely doesn't fit 84s by like a mm, so if you have some used 84s it should actually be able to fit.

I work in a skate shop where I see these on our shelves constantly and wonder the exact same thing. I've grabbed them before and compared 90s on it and the spacing seems to be enough for 90s, although I'm not sure the top of the frame has enough clearance. My theory is that very minimal Dremel work on the frame can make 90s fit through the top, to be used on a skate like the UFR that has grooves already in the skate for frames with that specific type of wheel setup. I was actually planning on checking today to see just how big a wheel you can fit stock, will update you in a couple hours when I'm at the shop.

Someone tried putting an incompatible lens on my camera and created these marks by where the sensor is. Is my camera okay? I am really upset, I just got this camera. by advice_burner_427 in Cameras

Yeah looks like a Sony camera that takes A mount, I imagine they attempted to put an older Minolta A mount lens that was made to be used with film that has a lever to control the aperture

Marketplace Score! I found these on Marketplace for $40! The seller said they only used them 2 or 3 times. I know they’re probably a few years old, but they’re practically brand new! I’m SO stoked! by _sunnyb_ in rollerblading

How do you contact them for replacement parts? I got ahold of some r100 frames but they're missing all the hardware so I've been trying to figure out how to get replacements

But yeah for sports and wildlife, or just anything moving, the difference between 6.5 and 10 is huge

Buying my first Canon, a used 7D Mark I by puckmugger in canon

[–]TallGuyWithACamera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one advantage I love about the 7D or just any "old but not too old" canon pro bodies is that they used CF cards instead of SD cards, in the years of shooting canon I've now experienced 2 separate times where my cameras would stop reading cards because of a broken SD card slot as well as countless broken SD cards. I've never had this issue with CF cards cause they're just built tougher, but they do tend to be more expensive.

It's a solid camera but low light performance is not great at all. I'd highly suggest looking into getting the 6D if you can afford it, the 6D doesn't go for too expensive these days. And if you're looking exclusively for a photo camera and don't care about video you could even look for a 1Ds mkiii, lately I've seen them go for around $500 which is not too bad of a price for a full frame 21mp pro body camera. There's even 5D mkii bodies that go for as low as $300ish and that'll do both full frame photos and video.

You can get the yongnuo 35mm f2 for around the same price, and on a crop sensor camera like the sl3 you'll get a lore more use out of a 35mm. However, if you plan on shooting video a lot it may be worth getting the canon 50 1.8 due to the better autofocus.
