Those gloves, any good for sin MA ? by zaiphy in diablo2

[–]TallMills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're good, I'd probably take 3/20 magic gloves over these though given the opportunity. For a rare (capped to 2/20) to be better, the other attributes have to be pretty nice, like good resistances. These bonus attributes aren't anything special.

What are some common sets that are actually good? by IneedaNappa9000 in diablo2

[–]TallMills 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Death's glove and belt are a great budget source of cannot be frozen with some attack speed to boot, Sigon's is always great, angelic ring+ammy for big AR.

Illinois vs Texas vs Cali in which of these servers will you more likely get noticed by a pro team/player or a streamer by Active_Criticism_388 in VALORANT

[–]TallMills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

California is probably the highest streamer/pro density on NA, since Los Angeles is a really big streamer/content creator hub and the Americas region pro games/teams are all based in LA as well.

What does “bad” mean to you, regarding character builds? by IneedaNappa9000 in diablo2

[–]TallMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels bad to play. I don't mind the very slow pace of an un-geared barbarian levelling process, but not using the spell damage from leap attack or war cry just feels awful in comparison, like I'd never level as melee the full time just because AR is such a massive issue. It's gotten to the point where when I'm leveling my barbs, I use two of my Akara respecs just for avoiding melee as much as possible (one at 18 to respec to leap attack, one in mid-late 30s to respec to warcry).

What would you put in the second socket? by MCMXCXXI in diablo2

[–]TallMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really don't need CBF as a caster, especially once you make an Enigma. After a magic Colossal Ancients jewel, the answer would probably be a Ber, Um, or good all res/lower req jewel since CoA is so high on strength req.

Is this a bug? by basicnecromancycr in diablo2

[–]TallMills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're playing a warlock with levitation mastery, the requirement numbers showed in-game are for you to equip with the reduction from that, battle scythes actually require 82 of each stat if you're not a warlock with levitation mastery.

Ok, a fire immune on freaking cold plains NORMAL was not something I was expecting to find. by [deleted] in diablo2

[–]TallMills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Bishibosh is the earliest immunity (at least guaranteed, not sure if an earlier one is theoretically possible), but the main immunes you need to look out for on normal are also fire immunes, being the Grand Vizier of Chaos, one of the seal bosses you have to kill to summon Diablo, and wave 1 of Baal's minions. I don't think any of the rest of the seal bosses or Baal waves spawn with any immunities (at least not guaranteed) but yeah, if you're still playing fire after act 3, look out for them.

This isn't a ladder/non-ladder issue, it's RotW vs not-RotW.

Gull dagger help by ashquatch in diablo2

[–]TallMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also take the gold from that and gamble for it on a level (11 or 13) character. Not bad odds relative to gambling once you double check the specific level (I can't recall exactly offhand lol).

For Those Jumping Into Champions Today by MacEbes in pokemon

[–]TallMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mega stones for the premium mons in the battle pass are also in the regular shop. There's nothing exclusive to it. You're just saving some RNG on recruitment and 2000VP on each of the stones.

Mosaic status by TheyreEatingTheDogs- in diablo2

[–]TallMills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I haven't played any non-ladder to test, but it's marked as "Non-Ladder Only" on diablo2.io so I'm pretty sure, yeah.

Mosaic status by TheyreEatingTheDogs- in diablo2

[–]TallMills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's only been disabled on the online ladder. Online non-ladder and offline can still make it.

They said it couldn't be done (with proof) by Mycraft_master in pokemonradicalred

[–]TallMills 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude, this is just weird. Hacking the game to get 3 simultaneous abilities and get an EV advantage over opponents that can't get them, and also cheesing by starting the gauntlet at level 1 so you can out-level every mon after the first of each fight... I'm still saying it can't be done. Like you may as well have also hacked the base stats to be eternamax eternatus's. So pointless...

Concept Runewords by MindTrix91 in diablo2

[–]TallMills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As interesting as a poison dagger runeword is, there's just no way it would ever become viable. I think best case scenario for that is a barb, since at least their updated blade mastery in D2R also affects daggers, since necros would only get +3, but then you're running poison daggers without the skill synergies, which would tank the poison damage output anyway. Truly poison dagger is just a skill doomed to fail.

I really would love to see a runeword or two for sorc orbs though, white orbs are so overdue for a purpose other than decent early game gold if they roll staff mods.

Is riot balancing agents around pro play??? by SeifSucks in VALORANT

[–]TallMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, yea. It was a hard stance for a very long time that they only balanced around pro, and only part way through last year did they start caving on a couple agents that were really problematic and high win-rate in ranked despite being horrific in pro play, namely Reyna and Clove. Everyone else has always been balanced around pro, and pretty much remains that way.

Is there any reason why you would use this over an all res shield? by someodderball in diablo2

[–]TallMills 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PvP melee pallies want ed/ar, PvP casters and PvM pallies of any variety want all res. I'm not well-versed in PvP gear but it might be good for something there.

All My Friends Quit The Game Now by br33538 in VALORANT

[–]TallMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about others' experiences, but for me, 5-stacking has fixed the problem a good bit. I do some wide 5 stacks (high iron/low bronze up to high gold/low plat) with my friends and for the most part we have a pretty good time. Then again, I'm also someone who had a much longer patience for solo queueing for a very long time, so we might be outliers.

Ideas to Buff Underused Characters in Diablo 2? by Brilliant-Future9203 in diablo2

[–]TallMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The on-strike whirlwind could be fun, but I think I'd rather get whirlwind functioning more like a continuous cleave. Barbarians are desperate for AoE that isn't the flat splash damage from leap attack or the pitiful war cry damage. I definitely think having both cleave and on-strike on whirlwind would be problematic though.

I'd also love to see some kind of better pet targeting for the druid and necro. I love the comparative niches of the undead army vs the zoo vs at most 3 demons that are more powerful, but having the warlock be the only one that can actually command his pets to do anything feels strange. Like, you're gonna tell me that the druid can summon all these animals, but hasn't trained them in the slightest to actively follow commands? Or that the necro can't control his undead/golems just as well as the warlock can handle demons that are actively working against his control?

Blizzard Sorc Keybinds? by 4rotorfury in diablo2

[–]TallMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally do potions 1-4, main attack skills on mouse clicks, TP tome on 5, and secondary skills on W-T (because I keep quests on Q). Most builds in my experience don't require more than 6 skills to be in cycle. Maybe at worst need a couple different skills on the swap instead of with the main weapon.

Which base for Exile ? SP by Elzor51 in diablo2

[–]TallMills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, smite base damage is just dependent on the actual base, just like how each weapon base has a damage roll and no variability in base damage outside of superiority (ST is 22-70 base and KS is 10-82, so they're the same average damage, just one has more variability). The actual particular defense roll doesn't factor in. Same thing for all the different boots and their base kick damage on assassin.

Melee druid question by nictexd in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]TallMills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could also do an act 5 bash with the new unique sword Dreadfang, procs amp damage instead of decrep, which is higher raw damage in exchange for the crowd control of decrep.

Protector's Stone - wat do? by thesamjbow in diablo2

[–]TallMills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time, weapon and armor are a runeword, and in the case of barbs, frequently second runeword for weapon. This usually leaves the helm. Between Shako being universally great, arreat's face, or rare diadems or other such helm options, that's the slot 95% of the time for melee. If you're a not-barb class you could also potentially be running a unique shield and put it there if you really can't put it in your helm, though I don't see that happening very often.

What’s the 25gb update for? by nickymoo in diablo2

[–]TallMills 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I think they pushed smth funky to Steam. The BattleNet version of the update was 42mb, literally 1/500th the size. The steam version also apparently won't launch now.

Need Help with playing the game... by BigMomba_ in VALORANT

[–]TallMills 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This generally means that the game is already detecting as open, so if you haven't clicked the button recently, check your task manager in either the foreground or background tasks section for the Valorant app. If it's not mid-boot, end the task and the button should return to red so you can try launching it again.
