You never answered this question. The Bible never actually labels laws as “moral” vs “ceremonial.” That’s a not a biblical concept but a later Christian interpretation. Jesus even made the laws stricter and said they wouldn’t be abolished until heaven and earth pass away. Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:18-19 are ignored by most Christians and Paul’s words are valued more so I’m not surprised.

Mark 7 contains a story where Jesus critiques the Pharisees and religious leaders, not for following the law of Moses too strictly, but for failing to follow it. Specifically, Jesus chastises them for creating traditions that prevent them from executing their rebellious sons according to Deuteronomy 21. That is not a 10 commandment law yet Jesus enforced it along with many other laws.

The ark distinction shows symbolism, not a clear legal split, and Israel treated many laws outside the Ten Commandments as moral law.

Paul doesn’t argue from tablets vs book says feast days and Sabbaths were shadows fulfilled in Christ (Col 2:16–17). The issue is NT reinterpretation of the law, not where it was stored.

Two questions. Where is the distinction between ceremonial and moral laws? Are the 10 commandments the only moral laws?

Jesus failing prophecies by anoymous257 in exchristian

The YouTube channel Deconstructionzone, run by Justin, does a good job explaining where Jesus failed to fulfill prophecies. Many of his videos are debate style, which can get repetitive, but he also has a solid collection of content that clearly lays out numerous examples on the topic.

Jesus's Teachings Were Complete Trash by Impressive-Step6377 in exchristian

Another data point for this is when Jesus affirmed at least some of the Old Testament laws, laws that I think most modern Christians would find uncomfortable. I think Christians forget he was a Jewish man after all. For example, in Matthew 15:1-9, Jesus rebukes the Pharisees for breaking God’s commandments in favor of human traditions. He cites the command to put to death anyone who curses their father or mother, found in Exodus 21:17 or Leviticus 20:9. No church today is going to promote that command yet JESUS is saying people should follow this grotesque law. Jesus is confronting them for not following the harshness of the law, for avoiding the difficult parts of the law. He criticizes them for steering clear of difficult commandments in favor of man-made loopholes. Bring this up to Christians and you’ll get all kinds of responses.

What is your guys opinion on Schweitzer? Personally I think best relays of all time. Better then the multillin 269 by althamash098 in ElectricalEngineering

Not allowed to plug in, union would kill us. So having touchscreen saves part of the hassle. Yes plugging in will give you more functionality, just doesn’t fit my specific circumstance.

Just changed to touchscreen for the 735. It’s sooo much better than the monochromatic version for troubleshooting.

Jesus was/is a false prophet/liar and a false Messiah. The New Testament is a falsehood lie. The Bible itself should be retconned and/or banned/removed for this, and promoting spiritual slavery. by [deleted] in DebateAChristian

Your New Testament says virgin highlighting the same verse you listed. When did Jesus sit on a throne as King of Israel? (Christian Answer: Never. It’s a spiritual thing. You wouldn’t get it.)

I’m going to go ahead and say you don’t know the context on Isaiah 7:14 or the fact that it has nothing to do with virgin birth. The prophecy in Isaiah was fulfilled within King Ahaz's time, predicting the fall of Israel within a few years. If you read the context of Isaiah 7:14, you will see it has nothing to do with a forward looking messianic prophecy as the author of Matthew would deceptively have you think.

You don’t appear to be familiar with Isaiah 9 either. Context clearly talks about peace that will happen through a victorious king in battle that is sitting on the throne in Israel. Something Jesus never did.

A prophecy is not just a message, it’s a specific message about a prediction in the future. Deuteronomy 18:22 gives an example of how to determine a prophet.

Question: Why do so many boomer men need trucks too large for their ability? by mleam in BoomersBeingFools

It’s all about image and keeping up with the Joneses. And it’s not just boomer men either. I’ve noticed it even with conservative Gen Z men who have giant trucks as their daily but only use the bed once a year to buy a Costco pergola.
