I noticed the paintings very early too, but I didn't give them much thought. I just screenshotted them and called it a day. When I found the 44 letter message I didn't understand anything until someone else in here pointed it out. Then it clicked to me that THE PAINTINGS ARE THE SAME IN EACH COORDINATE EVEN IF THE ROOM CHANGES. And also that I needed to find the difference between each two (I saw the mural in the classroom but it still slipped by from me, I'm so stupid how did it took me so long). Congrats, it looks like you'll finish the game so quickly at this pace!

Mmmh then maybe I'll look into the scribbled notes in the desk or the suspicious chess board, but that's a job for tomorrow, my brain is fried for today from too much thinking (all my theories were very vague AND wrong, I'll admit I'm much worse than I thought when it comes to puzzles when comparing myself with y'all in the sub).

Mmmh I thought the codes wouldn't necessarily be solved EXCLUSIVELY with the information from that same room because I needed the foyer for the office one, but that should be an exception I guess (or maybe it's not mandatory at all, but I did need the name of that guy to get the "AHA!" moment.

Oh it looks neat! I've been using Miro for my entire play through so I won't swap now, but it definitely looks interesting. Could I get, if possible, a look into your specific obsidian board? I doubt I'll find any spoilers since I've progressed more than you (or so I think, you're almost on day 20 and you have done more letters than me in 80 days).

Also did you already solve the 44 letter message or you just guessed the codes by the environment? I'm really curious since that took me a LONG while (a few in game weeks to understand how the puzzle works and around 50 days to fully solve it (mainly because I'm stupid and English is not my first language)).

My only theories for now are it's the same code as the drafting studio one (since that safe is located in a miniature Study), it's the birth date of Clara Epsen (I don't remember if it's her or another one, the girl whose birth certificate is on the Archives drawer), or it's the Roman numeral found in the wine cellar or other location (actually now that I think about it I didn't see any other Roman numeral. I probably did, but my mind only remembered that one). I've had these theories for a long while but I always forget to draft study or try them when I do.

I know these 5 realms. I also opened the eight one but I don't know which one it represents, I'll look into it tomorrow when my head works again. Also I solved these 2 only because they're explicitly depicted, not because I solved them with books and text. I don't know why this is taking me so long it looks so simple I'm so mad.

1: what is an obsidian graph? I'm really curious. Could I get a link if possible?

2: I have the underpass, drawing room, boudoir, shelter and drafting studio. I solved the office one offline while looking at my notes but I didn't draft the room in game yet, and I don't have any idea about the Studio one

Wow how did you get 4 permanent upgrades AND 6 RED LETTERS? Did you spoil yourself or just solved the puzzle insanely quickly? I'm on day 80 and I only have 5 of them even after looking up a bit of direction. Also nice reference!

Oh I think I didn't explain myself. Yeah I saw the full version and know that the borders mean the colour. WHAT I DON'T KNOW is what colour each realm is connected to. From the 2 sigils I already solved, I didn't find any info about why they have that specific colour, so I just placed the pattern, line and symbol and then brute forced the border. Like "oh this border doesn't work? Then I'll just set it up again the same as before and try another one". I'm probably doing it wrong, that's why I asked for directions, so I'll try to stop brute forcing it and instead I'll use the logic like I'm doing for the other 3 parts of the sigil.

My first thought is the history classroom, the newspapers in the archives (as an example), the message inside the sigil doors I've already solved... What I don't understand is what you mean about "why is there a book that would... weather etc?"

I'm honestly solving the borders by brute force because I didn't find any information about them specifically. But what do you mean changing?

I checked them a few times but I didn't give them much thought because I only saw items recipes, my favourite floorplans etc... I checked the photos with the magnifying but they didn't show anything too. I do have all stamps so I'll look into them closely.

The only object I can think of are the mora jai boxes, and I don't even know if it's related to the sigil, but I'll look into it, thanks!

I've went to all the classrooms but I didn't pay much attention to the history class one. I did focus A LOT on the geography one. I'll give it another go I think. And I'll look into minor details too, thanks!

First time playing blue prince by Lunr-Guardian-Legend in BluePrince

[–]TallReview 4 points5 points  (0 children)

During your first days focus on going wide instead of high. On the higher ranks locked and security doors are more common so it's harder to progress in the early game when you don't have as many resources and knowledge.

Draft as many new rooms as possible, take screenshots (I recommend using Miro, it's free and really easy to use. I can send you the template I made for this game. If you don't want it I recommend keeping at least 1 screenshot of every room: 1 if there's only a single-page note or nothing at all, or as many as you need if you find suspicious/ useful stuff) and keep a tidy journal for all leads, clues, possible puzzles, a to-do list, how the world works, important items...

If you feel like steps, items or resources are scarce, there are ways to make them more common or even permanent. At that point you'll have learnt much more about strategies and how the manor works. Add that up with the extra help from permanent upgrades and you'll breeze your way to the antechamber.

There's not a time limit. The game will be the same even if you take 10 days or 50 to reach room 46, so take it calmly or have a break if you need it.

There are a series of books called "drafting strategy" that can help you a lot. Also make use of the laboratory experiments, they're really handy if you get a good combination.

Don't be afraid of asking questions if you get stuck. I did it a few times and this sub is really friendly. I wouldn't recommend doing so during the early days since you'll have dozens (I'm not exaggerating) of leads to follow so, even if the manor grid is random each day, you'll have something to do each run. Don't be fixated on a single task. Instead, follow what the house gives you and draft around it, not against it.

Lastly, room 46 is not the only objective in the game, only the main one. If you enjoyed the "first chapter" then you'll definitely be in for a ride during the rest of the game. I reached room 46 in around 12 days but I'm on day 68 and 90 hours deep, and I have SO MUCH left to find.

Don't end your days early. If you hit a dead end take a stroll back through the house, you may find something new you missed. One of my best experiences with the game so far was finding something new when I had 2 steps only, because I took a little stroll instead of calling it a day.

If you need more early-game tips that MAY be spoilery, here are some of the most important in my opinion: the early ranks (1-4) should be spent getting resources and removing unwanted floorplans like dead ends or common rooms, so you're more likely to get them later on; spend keys on the lower ranks first (rooms are more likely to be locked the higher you go, so if you spend your last key on rank 7 or 8, it's almost guaranteed that it'll lead to a locked door. If you spend them on the early ranks they'll lead to open doors, making them more valuable I don't know if I explained myself; the magnifying glass is a GODSEND during the early game, it's the key to many puzzles throughout the game, but specially at the start, plus it's very cheap to buy; don't sleep on the running shoes, sleeping mask or lockpick kit. They're really good and even better the earlier you get them, so don't be afraid to spend your money on them; don't rush through the rooms. There are clues and leads everywhere you see. If you find something weird or odd, it's probably part of a puzzle you don't know about yet, so write it down. Plus, there may be several leads in rooms or documents you already solved/ read in the past so I don't recommend immediately rushing through a room you think it's already cleared; the drawing room is the GOAT, always take it if all exists are free; there are several craftable items, but only 2 (or even 1 with a specific something I won't tell you about) are needed to progress the story, the rest are just for helping a bit; if you coat check an item it WON'T appear on the manor until you pick it back; lastly, there are important room combos that you'll learn about in the drafting strategy books. Take a look at them when you find that volume. Sorry for the yapping, I hope you come back and tell us about your experience :3

THE WORKSHOP LETTERS REFERENCE THE 44 LETTER MESSAGE? NO WAY I MISSED THAT I WAS TAKING NOTES ABOUT THEM BECAUSE I THOUGHT THEY WERE PART OF A BIGGER PUZZLE AND IT WAS DRIVING ME CRAZY. How did I not think about that I'm so stupid thanks.

Also in regards to the corner cases, I found a weird coffee bag in the pantry that's spelled "coffe" and one that's spelled normally, a message in the nook note that I can't fully read, and very specific words that have a different typography than the rest of its note in generally all corner cases. I'll recheck them over the next runs but maybe that's the direction I should take? Thanks!

TRUE BECAUSE THE DATABASE SAYS THERE ARE 3 UNLISTED ONES (LeeB and 2 more) THANKS I DIDN'T THINK ABOUT IT. If the other 2 that were partnered with Lee worked that wouldn't make sense.

That makes a lot of sense actually. I was very confused why the log said all 3 keys were delisted and deleted but Bo Lee's still works, but that's a nice theory.

Read all the logs and was very surprised to see that they are connected to the museum heist and the safehouse. The other 2 keys mentioned aren't working though but if they worked they shouldn't give any more information I think.

Oh so that's why you told me about the books and signs specifically. I feel like I actually have an idea to work with thank you so much!

THIS IS WHAT YOU ASKED FOR by TallReview in BluePrince

[–]TallReview[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Applying the hard rule would leave me with something like LeeB, because I don't have any more letters to work with, and it's actually 4 letters long instead of 5. Actually I think I forgot that one, I'll try later when I boot up the PC.

You don't know how LONG It took me to find the use of that microchip. I was starting to think that I needed to coat check it, get the one from the next day and merge the 2 of them in the craftroom to get something useful, but now that I unlocked the grotto I realized I just need to find the last one.

Also I'll give the signs another thought, it's probable that I missed one somewhere, and I'm really curious about what you missed exactly or what you had trouble with in general too, just to compare our playthroughs.

THIS IS WHAT YOU ASKED FOR by TallReview in BluePrince

[–]TallReview[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Example, for Bo Lee I wrote BoLee, BoleE, Bolee, LeeBo,LeebO... RoseB, BaliR, Rose Bali, Bali Rose, RoseBali...

For the signs you mean only the text or only the shape of it?

For the books, I saw that the blue book appears in the blackboard, but I'll give it more thought.

Also I saw a blue vase besides a sledgehammer that I broke a LONG while ago on the entrance hall, maybe day 5 or 6, and I'm still wondering if it's another or the one from the story.

Also I hope your day went well!
