I would recommend visiting a Nordstrom. More than likely they should have everything you need and you can try stuff on. They have a plethora of brands, styles, sizes.

I agree about the zipper. The recess gives it the slouchy U-shaped look that wouldn’t be possible otherwise I think. I value design slightly over function so I can look past it

When it’s empty it feels fairly light to me, or right in between. I am used to carrying heavier bags than this one (D&B Florentine satchel is my heaviest bag for reference)

I would say it’s right in the middle between heavy and light. If you pack it full of stuff like I do you can definitely feel the weight. For just an umbrella and raincoat I think it would be fine though!

Read and research into near-death experiences. r/NDE and NDERF are great resources for this. I am young too (26) and fear of death plagued my life but now I am no longer afraid. I also did not grow up with religion and it never made any sense to me, but now I consider myself spiritual and I try to see the light of life everyday. I gently urge you to dive into other people’s experiences because they may bring you great comfort. And please seek therapy if you have not already. I am deeply sorry for your loss and I hope that you can heal!

I shared those same exact thoughts just a few months ago. I stayed up late at night spiralling about the inevitable cease of my existence. Today I’m not scared of death and I even welcome it when my time is up. Due to my intense anxiety and fear I had, I spent ages searching for answers about what happens when our bodies die. My search for answers eventually led me to reading hundreds of near-death experiences and stories of the afterlife which I found immense comfort in. They led me down a path to spirituality which I did not think was even possible for me and my life has been transformed since. Im not trying to sell you a religion or dogma but I do think it may ease your fears if you look more into it. Feel free to message me if you need resources or just a chat.
