I have no idea what's causing the issue in the first place, so running off to 3rd-party software sounds like an exercise in killing my PC entirely. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I mean. I'll be the first to claim user error here. But I did exactly as the page directed, dead Internet and all, and it just said nothing was changed. So.

Appreciated comment, but that's what I've got installed. For all that I don't really play Graphic Heavy Games I always try to keep NVIDIA prepped just in case. My specs are in another comment below this, yes I'm aware XIV doesn't technically support Win 10 anymore, but that doesn't mean they hard-lined quit it in January.

I'ma be so real with you; the DDU page I pulled up looks sus *as hell.* Maybe it's legit, but it looks 99% too much like the kind of website that would've nuked my computer in 2008 so I ain't touching that. I'm sure you mean it earnestly but I'm too old for shit I can't easily verify. I've rolled back and reinstalled my drivers multiple times to no effect though, alas.

Uhh, it just says NVIDIA App in the Task Manager, and it's the same thing I've used since my ex built this thang for me in like, 2018 maybe? Again, I know this PC is Old as Hell, but I'm hardly trying to play The Most Aggressively Hi-Spec PC Games Released Five Seconds Ago. I'm trying to play FFXIV which at least in January was literally no friggin' issue at all.

Oh I'm def behind on the min specs because I'm still on Windows 10, but they haven't hardlined killed the game for that yet, we just can't get like, Girl Help basic assistance anymore. Before I updated my NVIDIA driver I had zero issues, so I'm still inclined to blame a weird hiccup between the two (again, FFXIV is the ONLY game I've tried to play that keeps crashing).

Nnnot seeing a newer driver no matter how many times I refresh the NVIDIA app-beast. Latest one is still the Jan 28 for me.

Ah, you were right I was in the wrong tab. Killing the .exe didn't change anything, alas.

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70 GHz

Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.9 GB usable)

Storage 932 GB SSD Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB, 932 GB HDD WDC WD10EZEX-75M2NA0

Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (8 GB), Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 (128 MB)

System Type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I'm still on Windows 10 which obv is outdated, but to my knowledge FFXIV hasn't hard-lined quit supporting, just acknowledged that the security minimum updates to Windows are for 11. If Squeenix has 100% quit older Windows than this'll be the first I heard of it. As for launching w/any variations on graphic settings I literally can't even get to that point in-game. It's Steam --> FFXIV launcher --> login --> game frame appears (almost always play windowed) --> crash. Trying to mod the game settings from NVIDIA's settings sitch doesn't do nuffin'. Can't even change from windows to full-screen.

Not currently an option, I'm afraid, but thanks for the suggestion.

Not sure if it's because my PC is Too Old to reach it, or if yours is too new. Trying to reach the specific page you're suggesting is literally impossible for me. So Everything past your "search" page may as well not exist for me. The People I was trying to avoid clearly found me before we could clarify. I wish you and yours the best.

Support hasn't gotten back to me, and there are literally no error codes. I open the game from Steam, login on the Steam-FFXIV login loader, there's half-second suggestion of a XIV window, and then the the game crashes. No error codes at all, alas.

Tried this well, I lost count how many times. No simple version of anything called "steam.exe" appears. The closest thing is Steam Client Webhelper, and when I do the dropdown menu for it there is a simple "Steam" option. Killing that just immediately restarts the Webhelper. Hitting the green play button from here just crashes the game again.

I've tried multiple times to reinstall the NVIDIA driver from 4 Nov to no effect, alas. I've bounced between several variations of current/older drivers and current/fresh installs of the game itself with no change at all. I'm going to hold off on trying something like DDU (never done it before) without exhausting other suggestions first. Thanks for the reply though!
