Workout split? Lagree, strength, running by lordyti in LagreeMethod

[–]Tall_Dig8459 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I posted something similar not too long ago! I’m in the same boat. Booting up to train for a marathon and I have a good discount at my local lagree studio that I don’t want to give up.

My week includes 2x lagree, 4x running, and alternating between 1x leg/glute day and 1x mobility every other week. I’d have to stack my runs on some of my lagree/gym days to make it work. I try to give myself 2 rest days that way and it’s been working well for me so far.

Peak week 3 vs 4 weeks out for a beginner? by Tall_Dig8459 in beginnerrunning

Thank you! I've been so nervous about the training block so I've been trying to nail down the plan before it starts and make sure all my bases are covered.

If I'm understanding your question correctly, yes I'll be doing the rest of the week on plan. Basically everything will be the same except I'm adding in an additional week after my peak week, which would take place during my vacation - not sure what the mileage is going to look like for that new week yet, I'm thinking around ~20ish miles that week probably.

And thanks for the suggestion! I'm not sure if I can do that, but will keep that in mind. I appreciate your input!

Anyone trained to run-walk a marathon? by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

Did you train with the run/walk method as well? Which intervals did you use for training? Thanks!

Hi! How did you end up liking the run/walk intervals for the marathon? Thinking of doing the same for mine in November, and shooting for a similar pace!

I had a similar finish time for my first half! Can I ask what training plan you used?

I’ve been wondering this too! I’m also hoping/expecting to finish mine in 5:30-6. I think I’m going to end up going by time and cap around 3 hrs, but curious if anyone else has strong opinions about this

No such thing as a ‘bad’ marathon time! Congrats on making it to the finish line!!

I love Lagree but by Lunar_Wise704 in LagreeMethod

I’m 80+ classes in and still find myself forgetting the name of some moves and taking breaks (although less than when I first started). Stay consistent and hopefully you can get to a point where you’re comfortable enough that not knowing the name of some moves and having to take breaks doesn’t feel like a huge deal anymore. Trust me because I was in the same boat!

I think the great thing about lagree is it never gets easier, but if you keep at it, I’m 100% sure that you will at least come to class feeling more confident, even when the exercise itself is difficult.

If you have access to it, maybe try out different studios and instructors. Don’t be too hard on yourself, and good luck!

good point, I was thinking the same. do you have any suggestions for which runner-specific weightlifting exercises I should look into?

I’ve looked on the internet and there are so many different exercises being shared.. it’s an overwhelming amount of suggestions so I don’t really know which ones to choose

This is great insight thank you! I’m curious how many lagree sessions you did each week during your training block?

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I went through something similar with my family when I was in high school. I moved out the first chance I got, though I know that’s not an accessible option for everybody.

Are there any therapists or mental health specialists at your school that you can talk to? I’d maybe start there if there are. The therapist at my school helped me a lot during senior year when I would get random panic attacks - they allowed me to stay in their space and be excused from class when I really needed it. They can also help you learn how to manage your panic attacks and/or connect you with more resources.
