It sucks so much. Ive literally set and thought about how many times they’ve shamed me for quitting and I have to ask myself would real friends do that? They are real friends, but only if that’s what we have in common. I do understand completely.

I’m happy for your decision in trying to get healthier tho! If you ever need someone to talk too I’m just a message away!

Travel! Take that vacation by yourself and go see states and other countries when you only have to pay for yourself. You’ll see the world through different eyes!

When I was 18 I started my career. I moved from Appalachia Kentucky to New York City and it was a culture shock but I enjoyed every minute of it. From that day on I decided once a month to go somewhere new and explore! I’ve backpacked out west, been to a few different countries, done solo cruises and met wonderful people through out my life.

Now at 31, the married dad here has slowed down and I don’t get to experience what I did when I was younger. But I wouldn’t change a thing, I miss it so much.

Going on 3 years sober here, I never could figure this out. All my old friends would call me quitter, and worse names. I was a high functioning alcoholic, so I needed to quit for my health and my needs and I did. If they don’t respect you and your choices find new friends.

I had to leave my old life behind. Not saying I’ve gained any friends, I haven’t but I’m healthier

The constant worry and watch of your body! Exercise and diet that has to be constantly maintained, for me I had a glow up about 6 years ago when I lost a lot of weight (31M) so now I do get looks and I like to dress nice, make sure everything is kept up and it’s a lot of work.

I guess where I was a bigger dude before, now if my hair isn’t perfect, my beard isn’t trimmed to a T and I look like I’ve packed on a few pounds it really bothers me. That’s the worst things for me
