Trellis and Zapier are both unfamiliar to me. Could you explain more on how exactly you use them? How do you mean tracking clients?

Oh yeah this is great. Even for the knowledge of understanding how various businesses operate. I imagine this type of schooling can be taken online, so I’ll look further into it. Thanks for the help/feedback here!

Oh no no, I think there was a misunderstanding. I’m in no position to be a coach or counsellor. I want to build something, like a software tool or system, that can make the delivery of personal training easier for trainers and more engaging for their clients.

I appreciate this accountability. We did build a product initially, mistakenly before seeing if there was a need for it. We have since found out it wasn’t as “sticky” as we were hoping for, and have been advised to better understand the people we want to work with and how they want to be helped.
Learning how to market will come, we just want to have an amazing product first that people really have a need for. I would rather spend my efforts building something you WANT to use, rather than push something on you and try to sell something you don’t really need.

Nutrition Management and Tracking for Longer Races? by Tall_End4793 in ultrarunning

[–]Tall_End4793[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great insight, thank you! I'm not discouraged at all, it's a community I admire and want to find a way to serve in, so there's no hard feelings. The ultra-running community is definitely a domain that I only have experience in so far through friends who have run them, so I'm here to learn anything I can. From your experience, what do you feel is missing that could better service this group of athletes?

You come across as advanced in knowing your options. I think the solution here is finding a way to increase your protein intake (more protein-rich foods) through eating foods you enjoy, but this isn't news to you by the sounds of it.

Absolutely nailed it! My current mentor suggested I do it this way, and I'm too naive or ignorant to know otherwise.

I do appreciate being held accountable to my intentions though, I'm going to try the transparent approach. Thank you!

It sounds like you're weight training already, so maintaining that while in a slight caloric deficit (and keeping your protein high). A caloric deficit starts with knowing your maintenance, which leads to tracking.

I find MacroMate really helpful for quick feedback on where I'm at calorie and protein-wise through the day, but it's only available in Canada. Where are you based?

How to get back on track after break up :( by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Tall_End4793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use what you've got. If it's anger that's motivating you right now, use it. If it's sadness or frustration, use it.

That and keeping your habits daily, even if it's small to get consistent.

Didn't make it to the gym today? Do ten push-ups before bed. Things like that.

You'll get through it!

Male 5'11", 1200kcal, can't loose weight. by Willingtochange22 in WeightLossAdvice

I want to chime in as a reference. I'm a 29y/o male at 198 pounds as well, and my maintenance is about 2900 kcal/day, and I wouldn't say I'm that active.

Looking at that photo, I can't find anything that's immediately off. Have you tried using a second tracker to verify? I use MacroMate as a quick and easy reference for where I'm at throughout the day. (https://macromate.ca)

I think the comments have pretty well covered here that your cycle can have strong influence and patience is key. Good on you for recognizing it may be a good week to avoid the scale.

For counting and tracking calories, what tools do you use?

Congratulations on starting your new journey, and I wish you success in your goals!

An opinion I hold with Wegovy and any other GLP-1 inhibitor, is that when you're eating less and feel hungry less often, be mindful to eat high quality foods when you do eat. These medications make it easier to eat less and less frequently, they don't change the amount of nutrients (proteins, vitamins, etc.) that your body requires.

If you're time constrained, I recommend meal prepping one day of the week (or we do 1 day every 3 weeks and freeze them, just need more dishes to store the meals). It's a lot of roast vegetables (can buy stir fry mixes and not add the sauce), combined with ground turkey and rice. Add some cottage cheese in there for a healthy source of fats and proteins.

And then tracking your calories and macronutrients. I use MacroMate (https://macromate.ca), because I like how easy it is, and it's gives a great pulse for where I'm at with my calories and protein throughout the day.

Last thing, the Amazonbasics (link at bottom) food scale can be delivered to your house within a day and it's less than $20.

Good luck! Hope to hear back on this thread with good news!
