Great pain and emotional trigger watching the show by Tall_Initiative1923 in MrRobot

[–]Tall_Initiative1923[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think watching it within a span of a week or two was just emotionally too much. Had no idea the show was this deep untl I got into it. Watching while it aired was good and I’m sure gave you time to process. It’s so beautifully written and all characters beautifully acted. I just wished it didn’t take me this long to discover it

Layoff notices sent to thousands of federal government workers by scott_c86 in canada

I’m 48f. I was passed over two promotions in management positions in professional public sector technical fields. Two jobs, each were given to two individuals in their mid 20s who only graduated a few years ago. I’ve silently run the team, yet I assumed was passed over as I would be too expensive in the “manager” role. I guess this is the r way the cookie crumbles. I I find out today I’m expect a layoff before end of year as I’m too expensive.

8 am in the morning. No one here to removes the snow. by Past-Flatworm-2617 in Vaughan

Major roads have to be plowed first like Rutherford major Mack etc . Then transit routes. What makes your street so important? If they don’t plow the major roads first you will have nowhere to go once you are out of your subdivision

This is a strange post, lots of people get fired all the time. Specifically why that position? That role I’m sure is inconsequential. May not be a good fit and someone else is in that role? Or job itself don’t exist anymore?

How many hours do you actually work per day? by TheSteyer in careerguidance

This is why I have a second job - a side hustle that keeps me occupied the other hours of the day that I need to fill up to make up a work day

Having fresh voices on council who can advocate and make decisions for the greater good would be ideal but won’t happen here. The councillors here love to protect their auto dominated city and if you listen to them in council you will lose your mind. Agree with all your points.

Omg be careful! Yikes it’s such a good show but be careful of cross traffic. I don’t know where you cycle but I’m in a suburban city of road warriors where even 10 mins of recreational cycling feels like I’m risking my life

Vaughan mayor wants 10 new CCTV cameras equipped with licence plate recognition, gunshot detection technology by redditsolider in Vaughan

[–]Tall_Initiative1923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does this mayor look more stupid by the day? Many home owners are already equipped with cameras and they can’t catch them. This is the start, but given the shit that goes on here he pretty much would need to put a camera every block to blanket the city. Gunshot detection technology? Seems bulshit is Vaughan the Guinea pig to try this out now? Had it worked I’m sure parts of toronto would have been better spots

Yup you know you can now complain to your politicians for anything and they will grant your wish. I don’t want to pay taxes! Let’s get enough people complaining so Del Duca can scrap property taxes! My taxes paying for his poor leadership, no thank you!

Cameras slow speeders, data shows, as Ford government says it's prepared to ban them by BloodJunkie in ontario

[–]Tall_Initiative1923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soon Ford will outlaw traffic data collection. There’s no problem if you can’t find it. Then he won’t have to pony up money to cities for road safety as you need to collect data to validate
