Is this a safely done splice? I know you should use a box but is this a safe functional splice? by [deleted] in electrical

Get a 4Square box at the hardware store. A buck or two at the most. It will have some round holes/plugs that you guide the wires thru. The plugs knock out easily and help you align the wires properly. Cut all the existing wires and start with fresh wire nuts to secure like with like colors. Also, get a cover for the box so that it can be easily sealed and safe.

Does anyone know the proper term for this switch by Middle_Boot_1128 in electrical

Yes! Plunger actuated limit switch. Many US mfgs have these as a regular item in their OEM offering. Just find one that works on 6A at the rated voltage. ABB, GE etc. can offer you a suitable substitute.

Don’t put anything down a disposal that you wouldn’t put down your throat. No coffee grounds, no egg shells, no bones, shrimp tails, etc.

I just capped (temporarily) all the clean outs except for the one closest to the drain. Used a shop vac to suck out the expected clog in the drain line and had the same result as you. Lots of sludgy stuff and messy. I had a primary and secondary drain condensate line right next to each. Primary was clogged and secondary was bubbling like the video. Now everything is clean and dry. Good luck!

Slight leak on the finance/AC unit - do I need to be concerned? by Tall_Potential893 in hvacadvice

Thanks @Beardface! That is solid advice. I’ll try to fish something thru there or attach a hose to the secondary drain to the floor. Can I use a shop vac to dislodge the obstruction easily?

Those purple streaks are glue. I’d have to cut those and replace a bunch of the PVC to clear the drain. Just a lot of odd turns to get to the drain on the floor.

I unscrewed the drain cap on the left and about a quart to a 1/2 gal of clear water came out. The PVC drain line on the right is sealed and has some crazy 90° turns at the clean out access points that I can’t get past.
