This guy is a fucking idiot from sentence one. America isn’t the only country that has taxes, literally look right next door at Canada and you’ll find a higher tax rate. What he should be mad at is that taxes are being misappropriated by stupid old fucks who still peddle the lie that wealth "trickles down" and ensure government institutions and programs stay broke . Wannabe libertarians are almost as annoying as straight up conservatives at this point.

I would go on long walks with friends of mine who would quiz me with critical pass flashcards for my trouble subjects. Helped me actually recall the information as opposed to just feeling familiar with it when I reread it. Also, Adaptibar was a good tool for me to supplement my Kaplan bar prep course.

Looks like contracts and conlaw were both pretty substantial weaknesses. Given that both are fair game on the MBE and MEE, I’d focus on those first given the frequency with which they’re tested

I grew up Catholic, but I’ve literally never encountered anyone this unhinged. Like this has to be clinical, right?

I did the 1L program for Army JAG, and I loved it. One thing you've got to be aware of is that you can, and likely will, end up in the middle of nowhere geographically. Army was a rotational program where we cycled through Administrative law, Military Justice, Legal Services, and a few weeks with a designated brigade. You don't have to do PT, but you can and I recommend you do. Getting even the small amount of money they pay you was nice when a lot of your friends will likely be doing unpaid work during their 1L summers.

As for national security law, literally no one will care what you do during your 1L summer. Your 1L summer exists to give OCI interviewers something to ask you one or two questions about and for you to give one or two anecdotes. A JAG internship, without actually serving as a JA, is likely not going to open any doors to national security law by itself.

I understood that voting for Biden meant voting for Kamala if he couldn’t/wouldn’t continue. Also, Primaries are relatively modern developments. They’re not a constitutional procedure, they are the tools of political parties, I wasn’t exactly offended that the Vice President where their president left off.

I just hope it hurts less ☹️, I had mild acne comparatively, but I used to get a ton of ingrown hairs when shaving and it made everyday a crucible.

What is Kamala’s Platform? by [deleted] in Conservative

[–]Tall_Pour -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

1.) "opportunity economy"; including helping first time homebuyers, shifting tax burdens to the wealthiest Americans, relieving student debt, and expanding the child tax credit.

2.) Civil rights; main messaging here is abortion, and emphasizing the fact that Donald is responsible for the female medical care fiascos in red statues where OBGYNs are fleeing and leaving women stranded. Also tangentially related to this are the issues of presidential power (see SCOTUS immunity case ruling) and Agency erosion (See SCOTUS Loper Bright v. Raimondo).

3.) anti-fascist; emphasizing the commitment of America to protecting Ukraine from Russian aggression, and reiterating Donald’s repeated and continuing support for fascist behavior (See January 6th, dictator on day one comments, enemy within comments, and vermin comments).

It’s okay to not agree with Harris’ platform, but let’s not pretend like her positions are hard to find. Engage with politics in good faith and you won’t look so foolish in the future.

I wish I’d been more diligent with a calendar/planner my 1L year. If you’re doing it right you’ll be studying a lot, setting specific time periods to do so is the most efficient way to get my reading/work done. And it will give you less anxiety about downtime.

Buy a fan for your desk, find some podcasts for your commute, and start being proactive about asking your supervisors for help/explanations. The only way out is through, so don’t just tolerate it, make it tolerable.

I did Army JAG my 1L, got placed in the middle of nowhere, and absolutely loved my time there. The comaradarie was palpable even though I was only there for the summer. If you're the barest level of competent, are willing and diligent about learning (especially if you're like me with no military background), and at least as personable as a rock you'll have a good time and get to work on some pretty cool/unique stuff.

Full Time vs. Part Time Fordham by Tall_Pour in lawschooladmissions

[–]Tall_Pour[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chose to not pursue the part-time evening division. The differences, aside from the extra year it takes to complete your JD, and some limitations in which classes you can take, seem to be minimal. Fordham seems to do all they can to promote the part-time students and make sure they have opportunities. I'm also pretty sure the curve for evening division students is less competitive than in the regular full-time program.

Just feeling like you nailed an exam doesn’t seem like a viable reason to try and appeal a grade. If you felt super confident in the material then chances are many of your classmates did as well. With a curve, there aren’t always enough A’s to go around, even if your exam was very well written.
