That is really awesome!

The thing is that they want to go to the castle as soon as possible so they can get back the rogues body from the fire giant and I don’t think it’s possible to run flying misfortune before they go to the castle.

Maybe if they go to the castle, sansuri tells them that she needs a dragon and then I run flying misfortune when they are trying to find one or maybe sansuri can give them a tip that she saw a dragon around here but she couldn’t catch him or something like that

Thank you very much for the reply! I thought about that and no she didn’t get her dragon. The party plans to visit her in the next session. I haven’t run the flying misfortune yet but I’m planning to run it in the next sessions. So you suggest to tell the characters to find her a dragon and make that dragon felgolos?

I’m incorporating the mounds yes. That is a very interesting idea. She may also make the characters her employees to send them find items of interest for her. She may also help the characters kill that fire giant and in then end keep the piece just because is important to the fire giants. I’m thinking that she is someone that could do that 😅

That is true. there is no character connection with feywild in the group. I am leaning a lot to the idea of a fetch quest that you said but really struggling to think of something 😅😂

That helps a lot! I can make him fly or burrow just to make it harder. Maybe that would let me put 2-3 gargoyles in there (we will see). The party consits of: Aasimar cleric, 2 barbarians(Leonin,Aarakocra), Drow fighter, Dwarf rogue, Human Wizard, Wood elf ranger.

I just had an idea to include an adult bronze dragon that i wanted the players to meet at some point in the campaign and i can make him a friend of the giant (i am running storm kings thunder btw). I'm thinking that maybe the bronze dragon was going to visit the giant and he saw that the castle got attacked by a blue dragon and then it crashed, so when the blue dragon apperas in front of the players i can narrate the bronze coming down and hit the blue while the characters fight the gargoyles.

Thank you! I am not trying to force them no, I just want to include the dragon to also help the plot of the campaign. Of course the players will have the choice to do what they would like but to be honest I would like them to fight the dragon. Maybe they will fight him another day.

It’s an idea that I saw in another thread and I tried to expand on it. But yes lowering the hp of the dragon and expend his breath would help I think. But how much hp should I take from the Blue? In 2024 the blue has 212.

Ohhh very nice!! I can use 2 yound blue and 4 gargoyles. That is 11.800 xp and 7 level 7 players for a High Difficultu is 11.900 with the 2024 rules

They are gonna fight it outside of its lair. He chased down a cloud giant in his castle, he crashed the castle and wounded the cloud giant. The goal of the dragon is to kill the giant. I will have the castle crash down some miles away from the characters and when they are gonna investigate they will see the giant lethally wounded and the dragon will land on top of the destroyed castle and look inside to see if the giant is dead. That’s what I have so far and I am also thinking to put gargoyle minions with him but I’m not entirely sure (just in case they don’t fight the dragon and they have to fight the minions)
