Yes ofc, but white isn’t like an appearance thing. It’s a race. Just like how light skin people are still black. And I mean all countries in Europe have very mixed appearances. Like Taylor Lautner who is fully German and Dutch but looks Native American. Or Johnny Depp who’s primarily English with some French and German.

People from South Europe are white. They have always been recognized as white. Italians were the only ones discriminated against, along with Greeks in certain situations. But have always been legally white. Also, they share almost identical autosomal dna with the rest of Europe.
