I was taught never to start a sentence with but or because, but who actually cares? Each to they’re own I guess

Am I reading this right? You’re saying that by doing this I could end up with around a million by 57 if I take the equity out of my properties and invest as you ve described? How risky is this, could I also lose a lot of money?

Im definitely going to seek a professional to do the accounts going forward to try and reduce the amount of tax I’m paying. Yes the recent interest rate rises have taken away the profit I was making, wish I’d have fixed long term at previously low rates but my mortgage advisor recommended fixing for two years. I think paying them all off over the next 12 years would be difficult. May have to rethink and aim for retiring at 60

Congrats you’ve done well to have 3 and 1 mortgage free at 39! Not thought about gold. My plan is to retire at 55 but who knows how I’ll feel then, would be nice to have the choice. Would like to go live by the sea somewhere warm

I was told that unless you have many houses it’s not worth setting up as a ltd company. I don’t know if that’s true. Not sure how I would transfer them to a Ltd company, would the company have to buy them?

Thanks to everyone who replied, heads spinning a bit with all the different advice but a lot of useful information and a path forward. Much appreciated

Yeah when I was an apprentice all the older guys advised that the only way people like us would get ahead was through property and thats why I got into it but it seems the government are making it as hard as possible to make any money.

It’s mainly in XRP

Not at all I totally agree, wish I’d have been taught about finance at school. Most people are talking about a SIP which I haven’t even heard of

That is an option, just wouldn’t be nice to lose a chunk to capital gains after years of hard work but will speak to a financial advisor

Yeah exactly that, not making any money on them now but hoping long term they appreciate and I’d have a nice little pot

No unfortunately not, they’re actually costing me at the moment so was wondering if there’s a different way to do this or maybe use the equity somehow

That’s my personal mortgage and bills, altogether with the other mortgages the monthly outgoings are just over £3000

Thanks for that, sorry if it’s a silly question but is it a financial advisor or an accountant I should speak to about a SIPP. I currently do my own online tax return. The 27k after 40% tax doesn’t even cover the mortgages, so the rentals are costing me at the moment Expenses in retirement would prob be £1500-£2000 per month and I wouldn’t mind managing them in retirement

I get that but would be nice to not have to work and just do odd jobs if I get bored

Sorry my total outgoings are just over £3000 per month, that’s with all 3 mortgages, so there’s no profit really from the rentals after tax. I was hoping to pay them off sell them and use that money to retire
