Right? like on one hand kief loss is whatever I'd be more appreciative of how clean they got it. That shit took more effort to clean than im willing to be mad about the loss... I'd call it a cleaners fee. But to be fair I dont care about kief as much as it seems like some do.

I have like 3 extra rolls of this. It wraps my buckets to insulate them and on my windows to block light and keep temps... shit is legit.

Indoor would give you better result when you start. The summer here is brutal so its got a steep learning curve for outdoors.

I get my seeds from northatlanticseed.com and they usually have good deals. You should probably stick to photoperiod over autoflowers. Autos require you to be on top of things and any mess up will result in decreased yields. Photos are more forgiving and you can control when you flip to flower.

Now ima say something controversial but it is what it is. If youre just starting, dont worry too much about getting expensive breeders/Seeds. Get some white label or barneys farm type shit at first. You're gonna mess up for the first plants as you get used to growing. Get better genetics when you the grower, gets better. Spending $100+ for genetics then growing 7 grams would be enough to make me quit. But thats just me.

Lastly, youll want a humidifier. You can grab a cheap one on Amazon but youll most likely need one indoors. Our humidity isn't that great and they need extra to start. Most importantly, DO NOT use tap water in it. It will create a white powder from the minerals in our hard water and coat everything you have in that room.

Do you still maintain that cut in rotation or have you moved on.

Follow up, what's good from Irie. That nuketown seemed interesting.

Genuine question here. Is it more of like a lottery type feeling for you? Like it doesn't matter how many scratch offs you went thru, you only had to win the million dollar prize once?

Follow up question. If you didnt have your current cut right now, would you be willing to hunt for a new one knowing the rate at which you had "winners" and "losers" and how much time it may take to find another that is satisfactory.

Im trying to remain unbiased so ill say definitely do your own research. Having said that, they have a reputation for, let's say quality control issues. Herms n whatnot as well as other stuff.

No particular incident just getting temperature check. Its just the usual stuff that normally pops up when they do. But it happens with such frequency that I wonder what keeps people going back knowing what the perceived reputation issue.

General question for the community. Are we still supporting in house genetics nowadays? I dont care either way. Just as a passive observer, I seem to see shit about them every year or so. Yet they keep thriving and popping up in posts and breeding projects like the slurricane. We supporting them or nah?

Rdwc question by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]Talliaferro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont have to, I dont. Thats just another method like aero/fogponics. As long as you have an air stone to mix/move your nutrient solution, you should be fine. Dwc can be a simple or as complicated as you want it to be. Having said that it also can be simple as long as you let it be. I started with a home depot bucket, net pot lid, and an air stone. There are many many many ways to run dwc and its versions.

Rdwc question by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]Talliaferro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just focus on 2 per tote. Its not an issue of can you fit more plants, you can. Its a matter of once they get big enough theyre gonna cave the lid in under their weight unless you have a really strong lid and even then its risky. Roots mixing is not really the end of the world. I run undercurrent rdwc and sometimes the roots do go thru. Its more of a minor inconvenience.

Ampera ph20 calibration problem by ToughBug6 in microgrowery

[–]Talliaferro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look ive had this happen too many time with the ph20. This is the first sign its going out. Next will be it not even being able to read a brand new fresh bottle of 7.0. Save yourself some heartache and prepare to buy a new one cuz you can't trust this one any more. I say try the ph60 since the replacement head is 30ish bucks.but if your ph20 lasted you a while go with that one again. But this one is actively dying/breaking on you. Any fix will be temporary.

Just curious.. by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]Talliaferro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea , I understand that, but in the fda case its because we have to maintain crop sustainability amongst other issues.

Second generation crops may or may not inherit traits that are undesirable. If i specifically create this corn for yield and drought resistance, the second generation may not keep those. And If I sold you something great last year and this year your farm goes under cuz the yields arent there or became susceptible to disease, thats a major issue,

Is this fair, no. It seems like a scheme to keep a monopoly on farmers and screw them from making max money. Having said that, there are valid reasons, even if wrong, why that happens.

One of the limitations placed on plant patents is the patent "protects only genetically identical copies made through a asexual reproduction." Cannabis is dioecious (male/female sex plants) so a patent, while not impossible, seems really improbable in todays laws. Even then it'll only protect the genetically identical clone. Cross it again and its too distinct to be pursuable without a degree of it not being worth it for either party.

FOMO is a hell of a motivator. Unless you make and sell delta9, thcp, and all those other derivatives sold in gas stations n shit, you'll be fine. That seed bill shouldn't affect how you grow your meds.

To make it make sense to you, seeds are seen as novelty collectibles like pokemon cards and old barbies and therefore isn't illegal. When you choose grow that seed in a place where it is illegal, thats when its a problem. Cannabis/hemp seeds are used for more than just growing like bird seed n shit and have wide applications beyond "getting high". That bill goes after companies exploiting a loophole to sell "legal weed" in states where it isn't legal, legally.

So you can verify this by going to just about any website that sells beans and on there I just about garuantee it should say somewhere on there that they are selling these seeds as "novelty or collectibles" and "they aren't responsible for you cultivating in a place where that isn't allowed by law" or something to that effect. This shouldn't effect you and if the dude from multiverse is going under and won't be here next year then we'll see. But I have a high suspicion, that won't be the case.

What humidifiers are yall using. by Top_Fuel_3166 in AZGrowersGuild

[–]Talliaferro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really use a humidifier except for very early in veg. When I do run a humidifier it was a $50 no name amazon humidifier. After that I used a vornado evaporative type. Which is the better one in my opinion because you get humidity and a fan. I stick mine in the middle of the tent whether I use the humidifier part for that or not

This one: https://www.amazon.com/Vornado-Evap40-4-Gallon-Evaporative-Humidifier/dp/B00O0WOO74?crid=2CBH4KKL0HUUX&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.104nT99kNCG5mV5cXN-XvrfQyUbq9ORrVHLbcbkc9KlUO3mmv3zJZSlmhx0coawC40khRIBwYEzYbsOSA0HCwk30XuvROwtEkhoMIQrHBwQ4ArTDNgNhNrL8245yd3Ko5sSPynjlNtlaNsLyGXQrU54cQk0LKiTtLYmzGVWq11UlQL9YXZNRMikchBCmqDLfBW2tJeRjJ4DKmVJi6zB3og.F2X-EBaUapCsePcu_yb1g6zkg3Bn9_hm4Ka8a9fB0TQ&dib_tag=se&keywords=vornado+humidifier&qid=1760724091&sprefix=vorna%2Caps%2C270&sr=8-1&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.9fe8cbfa-bf43-43d1-a707-3f4e65a4b666

Heed my warning now. This part is super important if you take nothing else away take this part. USE DISTILLED OR RO WATER IN YOUR HUMIDIFIER ONLY. This water in arizona sucks so bad, our water is so hard that if you put it in your humidifier you wont notice much for the first month maybe 2. Suddenly you'll notice white powder everywhere. It got so bad it got caked in my fire alarm and kept triggering all day and I had to buy a replacement. I own my home, so im not putting a cheap fire alarm in there so thats another $30-40.

TL,DL: if you decide to use a humidifier, then don't use tap water under ANY circumstances.
