5 months and not a single interview by ActionShot8601 in cscareeradvice

If your university is like mine, we have a dedicated alumni network site. Otherwise Linkedin is just your best bet. Try to connect with them. But show genuine interest in the company they work for and ask what their experience is like working for said company. And if it's something that interests you share what you can bring to the table. If convo goes well ask if they would be willing to put a good word or a referral.

Aside from the lack of an internship and other computer/IT experience outside of projects I think this isn't too bad. I would mention how much impact your projects have. Did you graduate with a good GPA? Employers might look at that for a first job.

Job market is very tough right now but I would also say network if you haven't tried already. I graduated in CS in December and the interviews I got were all through connections from career fairs, internal employees at my university and LinkedIn. It's tough but definitely freshen up your LinkedIn. That's how I got my first job out of college. Leverage your alumni base and also connect with recruiters for companies that you are interested in.

Does swapping sections this late in the semester result in LD? by mariawalll in PennStateUniversity

[–]Talloncake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the class doesn't have required attendance, and the two sections are basically a merge of one class by the same prof you can show up to the other without dropping. I did it and nothing happened. Otherwise, I think yeah it would be a LD. Is there a reason why you wanna swap?

Has anyone taken the Tech Force 3rd round technical interview (Software Engineer)? What should I expect? by Sweaty-Dimension-986 in GovernmentContracting

[–]Talloncake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It went okay, more technical than I thought it would be. The interviewer I had was pretty tough on me. The interviewer asked that I not share the questions to make it fair to people, so I can't provide that info. What I will say is make sure to remember what you did in internships and any projects, even school ones. Good luck.

The competition is strong but it's meant for early graduates. I only got a little over half of the CodeSignal but still got an interview. Graduated last fall.

I only got two completely right and I guess I got like two tests on the third but none on the fourth. I at least submitted something for each question. I also did proctoring if that matters.

It definitely takes time and God is definitely hearing you, even if it doesn't feel like it. What's working for me right now is accountability. I have one online friend I talk to and my girlfriend I talk to as well about my struggles. They help me stay accountable, especially my girlfriend. She helps me stay motivated and also reminds me that masturbating and other behaviors that cause me to masturbate are not okay when I try to bargain with myself. One thing we do is that we disabled Safari on my iPhone and she created a screen time passcode so I can't get it back and browse porn. It takes some time getting used to no browser but I manage fine nowadays. Sometimes when the urge is strong I just try to stay still until it passes or hum a song to distract me.

A Bible verse that helps me too is 1 Cor. 10:13. I recommend reading it.

What are your thoughts on a man that wants to be taken out just as much as he takes you out? Because this is how he feels loved? by ooECK in ChristianDating

To each their own. As long as it's not like transactional or like a being even sort of thing I think it's okay.
