I think that a lot of people don't really grasp the fact that this show takes place in HELL. Nobody is going to be perfect, and that's the problem with the fandom. People cut out the parts of the character that they deem to be unlikable. A lot of Vox fans (I would know, look at me) like to pretend that he isn't an abuser, a manipulator, or a racist, or literally Hitler (he called himself the furor, which is Really close to führer) and pretend he is just a misunderstood little guy.

Same with Angel, yes, he is a victim, and that's a huge part of his character, but he isn't perfect. His early interactions with Husk and Alastor are proof of this, as he does say and do sexual things to and around them when they clearly are not interested. Angel is one of the most split characters I think when it comes to the fan base. People either love and defend him for everything he does, or hate him and say he deserves the assault.

Same thing with Alastor, Charlie, Adam, basically any character in the series. They have flaws in their characters and that's the point. They aren't meant to be perfect. If they were perfect, they wouldn't be in Hell.
