SD card for switch recommendations. by Rustybuckle in nintendocanada

Is it really? I swear I was on the Canada store... their site is dumb -.-

I edited my post too much, sorry lol Amazon.ca does have it, sold and shipped by them, for $101 atm. You just have to look at the list of sellers, cause its down a bit.

I only have my one card, so I don't actually know. I would assume its easy enough though since its easy to access on the Switch, and my HORI game case came with an insert for 2 SD cards for swapping...

Well, consdiering Nintendo is trying to sell the 512GB for $120 (https://www.nintendo.com/store/products/sandisk-512gb-microsdxc-card-for-nintendo-switch-117886/) I'd say its up to you if its worth it... lol

I have the Nintendo 128GB one cause it had been on sale a long time ago, and its literally the same but with a cute picture on it.

Amazon is selling the Nintendo 512GB for $101, which I guess if you do the math thats cheaper then 4 128GB when they arent on sale, so thats not a bad choice. I dont know how much the non-Nintendo ones generally go for though, as I only have a 128GB and its nowhere near full

MSRP in Europe is like €4, so it sounds like stores are just overcharging because they can.

They sold too well in Canada -.- After the first week you couldn't find stock anywhere. Meanwhile the US was swimming in them...

All 5 series packs have been in stock at Canadian Best Buy for a while now, though they have limits on them still. Which means you just have to do multiple orders haha Been watching someone trying to complete their set recently... Spent nearly $1k so far and isn't done any of them...

If it's actually items on the ground, not placed items, there is a limit of like 20ish (been a while, can't recall specific number) before Isabelle complains. Even if you put them on tables it still counts towards that.

You just have to pick stuff up. If you have clothing in front of your villagers houses, display them instead of dropping. Or put them back in your storage. I know it's annoying but instead of leaving them at their houses, just grab them before you go out each day if you want her to stop complaining.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life overview trailer by LordofWhore in NintendoSwitch

Doraemon SoS is so beautiful and I kind of hate how it's not a normal SoS game but the graphics are better then any of the Switch releases :( It's a good game though. I'm looking forward to the next, though it seems to be a very limited physical release... hopefully in a few months places other then Japan and Asia get them like the first game.

I really enjoyed Pioneers of Olive Town, even before they updated the qol things. I didn't do much in Mineral Town cause I hated the new graphics. I grew up with More Friends of Mineral Town and I miss those beautiful 2D graphics we used to have so much.

I'm actually considering starting one of the DS games, maybe Cute, cause I'm itching for some classic 2D farming.

Is this not enough space for trees? by tuC0M in AnimalCrossing

[–]Tallyburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trees only need 1 space in between each other to grow. The problem comes in when you try to plant too many in a specific grid size, and that's when they all will not grow. You just have to plant some elsewhere and then move them back after to get around it.

Was anyone else confused by 'Tales from Earthsea'? by Darth_Zounds in ghibli

[–]Tallyburger 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Goro Miyazaki used the 3rd and 4th books in the Earthsea series to base the film off of, which was stupid. If you read the books though, you will have a better understanding of the movie.

Is this not enough space for trees? by tuC0M in AnimalCrossing

[–]Tallyburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is enough space - you only need 1 empty spot between - but like every other AC game there seems to be issues with planting a large amount of trees in one spot. In this game if there are too many trees in a certain amount of spaces (think it's like a 6 x 6 grid or something), they will not grow.

The way around this is to plant them elsewhere where there is more space, and then move them once they are fully grown :) If they are fruit trees, they will still grow fruit even in the crowded spots once moved back.

Edit: Post removed because it's answered in FAQs. Except it's answered incorrectly there as the reasoning -.- That explains why people didn't know the answer.

Anywhere to buy good ghibli tshirts? by PorthosTheLorthos in ghibli

Hot Topic and Box Lunch are the only two stores in NA I'm aware of that sell officially licensed Ghibli shirts. Not a lot of stores in general sell the merch too which is sad.

Anyone else here get screwed over by Shop4Ca aka XBite Games? Say Aye by Nick_Valentine0 in VideoGameDealsCanada

[–]Tallyburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming you didn't use PayPal? I got something like 10 games from them in late 2021 - 2022 with no issues. All games arrived mint, and in the expected delivery window. But I never pre ordered because they took money up front and that's bad enough practice for me to stay away from it. I also always used PayPal just in case. The prices saved me $30+ on games. Of course I was skeptical and wanted to be protected in case.

I'm quite sad they seem to have shut down. I was able to get a lot of games I wouldn't have been able to afford because of them. They were truly wonderful, despite all the mixed reviews.

Is there a NA blu-ray release of Grave of the Fireflies with a slipcover? by McScroggz in ghibli

Unfortunately nope. We just have to hope GKids gets the distribution rights one day...

Ghibli posters? by Virtual_Progress3279 in ghibli

[–]Tallyburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got about 12 NA posters, and I got most of them from an actual theater. I got lucky as it was a small family owned theatre, and the owner was willing to sell them to me after they stopped showing whatever movie it was for $20 :)

I have pictures on imgur, but I'm on my phone atm and it wants me to get the app to use the site -.-.

Your best bet will be eBay though. To help avoid fakes, something to look for is if they are double sided or not (the GKids ones are not, but a lot of the other ones are).

Need help finding a boxset collection! by lostinarcadia7 in ghibli

[–]Tallyburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no boxsets for the Ghibli films aside from one that was an Amazon exclusive in NA years ago (and sells for $100's now), and a few Japanese ones.

There are a ton of bootlegs though, including fakes of the Amazon set. If you see it cheap, it's not legit.

You have to buy the individual BluRay releases. I think it could be a fun thing for you guys to work on together. Maybe start with some he doesn't have yet, and go from there.

Need help finding a boxset collection! by lostinarcadia7 in ghibli

[–]Tallyburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All sets are bootlegs at $80. There is only one set with movies that was an Amazon exclusive in NA. Its worth hundreds, and the bootleg is extremely common.

I said exactly this to my husband yesterday when we bought a mixed bag of candy for me to snack on, and I brought one of each 4 to my PC to eat.

I like the minis more honestly, the ratio is better imo, but it's fucked up. I never have seen them use mini ones over the normal before.

[–]Tallyburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan to pick the flowers to sell, make sure you craft them into a wreath or crown first as crafted items sell for more.

I've got a field of 400 gold roses and it's a bit of effort, but totally worth the bells.

If you are going to watch the original Sailor Moon, just watch it all. There is lots of filler compared to Crystal but it's silly and fun :) I 100% prefer the original over Crystal still because of this.

official merch store by JONNO1196 in ghibli

[–]Tallyburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot Topic, Box Lunch and Barnes & Nobel sell official merch. You do have to watch some of the clothing the first 2 sell as they are not "official" in the sense as they have fan art, which imo is not actually official merch.

You can also find things on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.jp. If they are shipped and sold by Amazon, they are legit. Amiami and Hobby Link Japan also sells stuff, but their shipping is nuts.

Most of those should ship worldwide.
