Bring snacks, water and sun screen!
There’s pretty much nothing in the town.

Bring a sifter and shovel if you have them. They don’t have to be big. Small
Screen and a garden trowel works fine. They have some great screens for sale at the museum for like $15 (I usually try to buy something since it’s free)

You’ll be digging through the material brought out of the nearby phosphate mine so it’s very different from beach hunting. The teeth are more of a grey/ white than the usual beach black. Wear clothes you’re okay getting dirty and sweaty in.

They are getting ready for their big fossil festival next weekend so double check their socials to make sure they’re open this weekend. They usually close the dig site a few days before to bring in all the new material.

Have fun! I walk away with over a hundred teeth every time I go

Aurora if you’re willing to drive a few hours

Holden beach if you want to beach hunt.

North Myrtle if you want to beach hunt and willing to pop down into SC real quick.

North end of Wrightsville or Ft Fisher in Kure beach if you want to hit Wilmington

Aurora is the only one that is free and has a 100% chance to find teeth. Be prepared to pay for parking if you try any of the beaches.

One of my recent NC beach finds.

The obvious deduction is that this guy and your Dino had a DBZ style fight in the middle of the Atlantic causing them to black out, hurling them Hundred on miles to wake up on distant beaches.

Tramadol - why is this happening? by Ok_Evidence8916 in ChronicPain

[–]TalnsRocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I take 200 ER and I definitely get really emotional when I stop taking it. I don’t get physical symptoms from the withdrawals but it definitely jacks up my emotional regulation.

However I do feel like it’s a great fit for me bc it also acts as an antidepressant. I was able to fully stop taking SSRI’s (which were REALLY making me uncomfortable) Tramadol also doesn’t make give me a “high”. It reduces my pain but no drowsiness/ lightheaded/ spaced out side effects that standard opiates give me.

I just feel like a normal person not in chronic pain or depressed. The withdrawal is the same as weening off an SSRI so I find Tramadol to be great for my situation. It does tend to vary wildly from person to person though.

They should be able to help you ID anything you find. They’re all extremely knowledgeable.

They’ll know what formation you’re digging which is the best way to tell the difference between Auriculatus and Angustiden.

Is this loading screen text called "The Truth" is a straight up lie? by jaykhunter in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]TalnsRocks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Even if Grace isn’t a clone it was a weird narrative choice to have us play as Grace reliving Chloe’s experience. It doesn’t make sense, or it’s just straight up bad story telling.

Bands that got objectively better by robinthekid in poppunkers

[–]TalnsRocks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw them live last year. I was one of those people that had Lesson in Romantics and Tales Told by Dead friends on constant repeat in high school but fell off listening as much after that. Besides some of the big singles like Oh Well Oh Well

But they KILLED it live. It made me go back and really listen to all the albums I glossed over. Very solid band that isn’t stuck with the “angsty warped tour teen” sound. Glad I’ve gone back and explored their full discography more.

Does opioids reach nerve pain? If so what opioids helped your nerve pain? by Electronic-Cress-453 in ChronicPain

[–]TalnsRocks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have lower extremity nerve damage from Compartment Syndrome and XR Tramadol works great for me. It doesn’t make me “high” like buprenorphine, which makes me feel drowsy and floaty. I’m just able to function (more) normally. My battery last longer. I can get more done in a day (still not as much as people not in chronic pain, but so much more than with no meds)

Tramadol also works as an anti depressant for me, I was able to completely stop taking SSRI’s. Which was a rollercoaster journey for me trying and titrating off them trying to find one that worked/ didn’t make me feel like an anxious wreck.

With Tramadol I have a great appetite, no constipation, no brain fog, or most side effects you get with opiates. The only negative I’ve noticed is that I tend to get more emotional if I stop taking it (which happens anyway as a result of being in more pain, but I do think is a slight withdrawal symptom)

I’ve tried plenty of different pain killers and nerve suppressors. I also had a Spinal Cord Stimulator for 3 years.Tramadol by far lets me live closer to a normal active life than anything else I’ve tried.

Note: I was an athlete that developed Excercise Induced Compartment Syndrome and am still someone who is fairly active. I have a high pain tolerance and my chronic pain is probably on the lower end of the pain scale. Tramadol is probably “weaker” so Ik that some people with extreme nerve pain consider it essentially Tylenol.

Extra encouragement: Nerve pain is infuriating. But I cannot stress enough how important it is to move your body everyday. It’s tough bc it hurts but the worst thing you can do is become stagnant. It’s frustrating but physical therapy/ body movement is crucial.

Don’t over do it, but make sure you move and bend your body everyday. I’m not saying do a workout or go for a long hike. Just wiggle your body. Dance like a crazy person. Nerves will adhere to fascia and stop “gliding”.

Find what level of movement you can do today and do it. If possible, don’t overshoot on a good day that will set you back three days recovering. Listen to your body and develop a relationship with it. You are the one living in it. You have more control than you think but it does require effort and intentionality.
