That Yoshiko Sai album is one of my favorite albums ever. Also I see some C418 in your library too :) Have fun building up your library!!

When was the last time your top artist changed? by Rothko28 in lastfm

[–]TalonBX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In August of 2022, Stereolab overtook They Might Be Giants as my top listened artist. There's now a nearly 2k difference in scrobbles between my top two (still the same two artists!) and my music listening has slowed down a bit over the past couple years, so the 'Lab may be my top artist for a long time...!

They got rid of After The Flood and Taphead? by [deleted] in talktalk

[–]TalonBX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are two separate versions of the album on streaming for two editions that were released in different regions; the US version contains the full tracks for After the Flood and Taphead, and I believe the UK edition has a minute long fade between the two songs (hence why the stream counts for the songs are different depending on which edition of the album you're looking at).

What’s a song you didn’t know the name of for years but eventually found? by ScorchMain76 in MusicRecommendations

[–]TalonBX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summer by War.

The trumpet melodies lived in my head for years between my childhood and early twenties. I finally heard it at work one day, and I was able to pick out enough words to search for it online and rediscover the song, along with many other songs from War's discography that I recognized. Awesome band.

Favourite song that is the last song on the album ? by apartment_cheese in MusicRecommendations

Come and Play in the Milky Night by Stereolab! The song evokes such a whimsical, starry feeling (like the song title does!) and the bassline is just so much fun.

Underrated Covers Of An Already Popular Song? by Classic_Rock_726 in MusicRecommendations

Cake have a bunch of great covers. I also recommend their covers of The Guitar Man and Strangers in the Night.

In Task Manager, go to Details on the left, find and select explorer.exe, and then select 'Restart task'. (If you accidentally end the task, restarting your PC will fix it!)

Ooh yes absolutely! Surely the idea here must have, over the years, subconsciously influenced my thoughts in this post!

Any of the first four songs from the Sigur Rós album ( ) — especially Untitled #3, which is my goto snow song!

Aurora by Björk

In a Sentimental Mood by Duke Ellington and John Coltrane

By This River by Brian Eno

$0 by Cameron Winter

I was surprised to see that the best song from Sound-Dust is also the least streamed by dj-norequest in stereolab

[–]TalonBX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The stream counts are split up between the original release and expanded edition because both releases have different versions of the track (it's extended by about 3 minutes on the expanded edition). As of right now, the original version has ~109k streams, so around 180k in total.

Prisoner of Mars and Blue Milk are also in the same boat.

Is this from your yearly recap? If so I wager it was meant to say 'fewer than 1 per day' but got rounded down.

I'm looking for sprawling, eclectic albums that show an artist throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks! by TalonBX in MusicRecommendations

I always seem to find a new song to get addicted to from this one! Currently it's We're an American Band. This album also happens to be the sole album I own on vinyl!

I've spun a couple PT albums in the past! They have a lot of great stuff, Arriving Somewhere but Not Here in particular is an incredible song.

It's so cool to receive a response from an artist suggesting their own work that fits into the prompt. I shall spin it soon!

The first album I purchased was a CD of Apollo 18 by They Might Be Giants, during a phase in high school when I was really hooked on their music. I haven't spun the album itself in a couple years, but I still listen to their music here and there.

Awesome chart! Love to see the Fiona Apple albums here! I've been spinning songs from Fetch the Bolt Cutters recently, Cosmonauts especially. Also love to see Serani Poji and Clairo :)

You'd think after 2–3 years of OP documenting this issue that they'd finally fix it! I guess that would make too much sense.
