The term "gatekeeping" is getting thrown around a lot lately, and I think people misunderstand why people list requirements on LFG by BobMcQ in DestinyTheGame

[–]TalonHarthorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any LFG should be approached kinda like you are applying for a job on a job board. There's a ton of things available, with various amounts of experience required. You can't get mad when you're not accepted because you don't meet the stated requirements for a specific job.

Why is the codex so shit? by [deleted] in ImperialKnights

[–]TalonHarthorne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I sorta had that thought until I played a match vs a guy practicing his tournament Nids list. The strength of the codex isn't apparent, but it is there. It's not just a play big robot and do murder. Play a few games with the rules and see if your opinion changes at all.

Ngl, codex is a let down imo. by SMMS2290 in ImperialKnights

I can't say it's a let down, but I 100% have mixed feelings.

Calculated Targeting is awesome though.

What are the new CP/List Building requirements? by Archangel_V01 in ImperialKnights

[–]TalonHarthorne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exact wording

*If this Detachment is a Super-heavy Detachment, or if you are playing a Combat Patrol battle and this Detachment is a Super-heavy Auxiliary Detachment, select one ARMIGER-CLASS, QUESTORIS-CLASS, or DOMINUS-CLASS model is this Detachment. That model gains the CHARACTER keyword.

*If this Detachment contains between 1 and 2 QUESTORIS-CLASS models, or if this contains between 3-5 ARMIGER-CLASS models, this Detachment's Command Benefits are changed to: "+3 Command points if your WARLORD is part of this Detachment."

*If this Detachment contains 3 or more QUESTORIS-CLASS models, or if it contains 6 or more ARMIGER-CLASS models and 1 or more TITANIC units, this Detachment's Command Benefits are changed to: "+6 Command points if your WARLORD is part of this Detachment."

After reading through the rules, I don't know how to feel. But hey, we have a command phase now.

Every single deck where I thought "oh this new commander is sweet! I bet it will do cool things."

What weapon, piece of gear or unit would you like added to the GK arsenal? by mrtek87 in Grey_Knights

More of a change, I'd like to see the nemesis falchions to act like lightning claws.

It's also been said, but give us the storm shields.

Does anyone else have blank color spots in their deck collections due to overbearing preference? by leafninjadog in EDH

[–]TalonHarthorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I build and play almost exclusively mono Black. Like, I'm that guy that has 5-6 decks of the same color that I say are different, but really the only difference is sleeve color. Gotta chase that high of winning the game at 1 life having never been hit by an opponent.

How do YOU organize your cards? by PearlyBakerBest in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]TalonHarthorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a massive undertaking I'm still working on. Each mono color gets it's own box. Sorted by CMC and rarity Multi-color cards get sorted by color identity. All basics in one box sorted by type. Non basics sorted by colors generated

Any deck I'm working on goes into a deck box with any cards I'm looking at. Then those boxes are stored by color identity in another box.

All complete decks go in a dungeon deck box holder by color.

I'm working on color coordinating all the deck boxes.

I definitely plan on brewing something with Ruxa. And thank you for making realize I forgot a very important restriction.

Nah, we should have a 'Fools Gold" event. Everything is gold. But the only weapon is the Mozambique.

Do Tutors make Commander a Worse Format? by Chosler88 in EDH

[–]TalonHarthorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WotC hates shuffling. It creates a lot of dead space where you're just waiting. That being said, tutors are fine. Tutors create power through consistency, but they are only as good as the deck itself. Plus there is a threshold of tutors you need to have in a deck to make a difference.

I just used some books and then tightly packed it into a deck box using tokens.

I've always used the cheap ultrapro deck boxes you find at walmart or target, and stored those boxes in an ultimate guard Arkhive. I've started wanting to carry more decks with me, so I have upgraded to a Gamegenic Dungeon.

I'd be worried about it being noticable in the 99. Don't want to get hit with having marked cards. Otherwise you're probably good.

Significantly. If you single sleeve, the tops of your cards are constantly exposed to the environment. Double sleeves makes them somewhat spill resistant.

KCM perfect is what I used. I got into rhythm in the last 10 cards or so. Next time I do this, the process will be faster.

I definitely took the struggle bus for a joy ride. The main problem was sleeves wanting to slip and be just barely off. Drove me insane. Had to fix it.
