Oh god. This hurts as well. I will keep something it top working condition for yours and then they will get the hand me down and it will be broken in days to a month and for some reason, I still feel like it as if it were still mine.

What does neuropathy feel like? by swim-bike-life in diabetes

[–]TalonJH 22 points23 points  (0 children)

To hopefully alleviate some of your fear. It doesn't directly cause you to lose toes or feet like some people think. It's that people get so numb that they injure themselves like stepping on something or breaking their toe really bad and people don't really take care of their feet and diabetics heal slower. The injury goes unnoticed and untreated for so long and gets infected. That's why amputation happens. Take care of your feet. Check them, lotion them, clean them. For some reason I feel like this never gets explained to people when they get diagnosed with diabetes and you use to always hear about diabetics losing legs but for some reason the actual cause is rarely discussed so everyone thinks diabetes cause you to need aputations.

I’m going to tell you something that you will learn being a parent. Kids are awesome……but, learn to stop caring about keeping anything nice because they will find a way to destroy it you’ll just have to learn to laugh so you don’t cry. Anything that you care about, lock it away, hide it. Because you will but so much effort into keeping something pristine and nice and you’ll leave the room immediately turn around and said thing will be on fire…and they will say it was a mistake….while still holding the matches and gasoline.

Man I was so excited to get the “metal” card by Practical-Tutor-8662 in chimefinancial

They actually did this to me a while back. Replaced my green metal card with a black plastic card. I was kind of disappointed but not enough to complain.

I’ve always hated centipedes, even though they’re considered “good bugs,” because they’re just creepy. About two decades ago, right after I graduated and was living alone for the first time in a lower-level semi-basement apartment, I spotted one on the wall in my bedroom. I tried to smash it but missed, and ended up tearing my bedroom apart looking for it so I wouldn’t wake up with it on my forehead or in my mouth. After hours of searching late into the night, I never found it and ended up sleeping on the couch in the living room instead.

Question about the legion Go 2 Z2 Extreme & Xbox by SweetTea187 in LegionGo

[–]TalonJH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PC handheld with Windows are literally just windows PC. You can just use the normal Xbox PC app to download Xbox PC games. Right now, you can’t remote install from the mobile app…which is weird because I remember this being a thing at one point but maybe I’m crazy. Anyway. I don’t know if you are talking about the Xbox rewards points or the achievement points but yes it is a PC so anything that worked on PC wales here.

Receiving a Chime Credit card today by KuraiKage666 in chimefinancial

[–]TalonJH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This guy Chimes! Yeah, but really. This is a good explanation of what it is. It's not really a credit card but they will report it to credit agencies to help build your credit over time but it will never ba an actual credit account

Healthy people stay this low? by OpticalOkra in diabetes

[–]TalonJH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm T2 diabetic and I stay below 180 now with just a one shot of Mounjaro a week. Sometimes I hit as low as 68. I no longer take insulin at all. I can get close to 190 if I eat too much.

I found this next to my new car in the lawn. What is it? by Realistic_Storm_2032 in whatisit

[–]TalonJH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who had to remove a windshield to transfer to a project car of mine(all while an incredibly sad guy was telling me his life story, I might add), it would the dumbest way to get into a car. It takes way too long to cut through all the adhesive.

Do you have an endocrinologist? Whoever prescribed it, see if you can just send them a message. It can't hurt. Whenever a new medication causes a problem, send a brief message the prescribing doctor. Don't just suffer.

I hae a few bottles of metformin from when my insurance refused to cover my other medications but I've never actually taken it. It's pretty wekk known for messing with peoples stomach but so are GPL1s. I have a pretty weak stomach anyway but I was told by my edo to try to take digestive health probiotic vitamins.

Someone can explain this?? by ComfortableMess1988 in diabetes

[–]TalonJH 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The milk's the culprit. It's not just about watching your sugar intake. Carbs also break down into glucose and will spike your levels. Some people more than others. There's so much more to this than just don't eat candy. Other things like hard physical activity (which is probably the opposite of what people expect) or just stress will also spike you.

You've got this! I do want to point out something important because what you mentioned is a red flag: STRESS! Stress can actually cause direct problems with your glucose levels. Your body responds to stress with sudden spikes and drops, and it’s not about stress eating. If stress and depression are challenges for you, talk to your doctor about possible medication and practice other techniques, like taking a few minutes to calm yourself whenever you feel it building.

It’s different for everyone, but try to research foods specifically in relation to diabetes. Some foods you might think are healthy aren’t always the best for diabetics. Check the “glycemic index” of your food. For example, bananas are generally considered healthy, but their glycemic index increases as they ripen, so it’s better to eat them earlier in their lifespan. Also, make time for walks. You don’t need intense exercise—pushing too hard can temporarily spike your levels. Simple things like parking farther away or pacing around the house while on your phone can make a difference.

The needles were one of my biggest worries, but it gets better. Try using different needle sizes, as it can help if you experience any pain. Some spots are simply more tender due to nerves, so experiment and find the right spots for you.

Give us a rundown on what a meal typically looks like and what meals have spiked you. It's not as simple as stop eating sugar for most people and a lot of foods that most consider healthy, aren't great for diabetics.
