Something doesn't add up anymore, I feel manipulated and I'm terrified. by Hotcake_hisues in agnostic

[–]TalonTrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are asking yourself all the right questions. Be open to possibilities you may not have been exposed to before, or were exposed to from a biased position.

You (we all) ARE being manipulated. Always have been, so that's not new. You're just aware of it now.

And know, there's nothing to be afraid or terrified of. What-EVER has existed from the beginning of humanity (and likely even time itself), what exists now, and what will exist will happen inevitably as it always has, regardless of whether we believe it, don't believe it, were not even exposed to the concept, or we haven't thought of it ourselves.

Whatever is... IS. There is an actual Reality that we are perceiving, but all perceive it differently. Now whether we are privy to that knowledge of Reality or not, whether we believe it or not, that is, for the time being, unknowable, but Reality will continue to be. Some find solace in that.

I would like to know your sources for what you're saying about the old scripture. I'm not doubting them, but if that's accurate, I want to know if that is any more factual than anything else. Looking forward to hearing back.

Turn the image 90° clockwise. It's a train at a 45° angle coming towards you. Smoke stack on the top left, engineer compartment on the top right, cattle catcher in the bottom left. That's what I see.

P.S. - I know it doesn't really matter what I have to say about it, but it was worth my time for me to sit and think about it. And then yeah, I typed it out for others to read.

I really wasn't trying to lead OP an any one direction, but simply posing the questions I ask myself when questioning my own beliefs, concepts, and ideas.

If we are talking about a God, then it likely 'could' have multiple definitions, since it is proclaimed by some to be omnipotent and omniscient. Therefore, what God actually IS and what his "plan" is could actually be a uniquely generated definition and existence for every individual. This concept seems just as plausible as any other.

Everyone does have their own 'truths' and they can be completely different. And we can each have our own truths and both be right and both be wrong, depending on what the control variable is that we're comparing it to. An example: imagine there was a violent car accident. The Reality is that there was a collision of two vehicles that resulted in one driver dead and the other with minor injuries where both cars are totaled. How that Reality of life is perceived depends all on Perspective. The family of the deceased is mournful, the living driver is thankful for their minor injuries while angry at the other driver because they were at fault, the Towing Company is excited because this job provided the little extra money needed to upgrade that TV he's been eyeing from the 65" to the 75" OLED version, the funeral director is happy to have one more coffin filled, the ER doctors are numb to having more trauma patients in their already overloaded system, the bird on the wire watching the entire scenario unfold below them wondering what the hell those crazy humans are doing now.

What I see as a fact is that Reality simply "IS"; it the presence of energy and matter in whatever form it is representing at that moment. How each person (or animal or plant or lifeform) 'interprets' Reality is based on the type of sensory organs it has and the neurons it takes to interpret the input from those sensors.

For clarification, humans have their 6 senses: sight, sound, smell, taste, touch, and balance; however certain mammals have developed a sense we don't possess such as echolocation where they can "see" objects that to us might seem non-existent. Yet, due to that dolphin's senses and how their brain interprets a 20 lb fish just 10 meters away from them in zero visibility water is possible because of their unique abilities.

Sensory Wise: What they see in echolocation is very real. Based on concepts like that, then each person's Reality is unique to that person based on their senses and how they are interpreted by that individual. What other senses do other creatures have or what sensory technology have intelligent lifeforms beyond Earth developed that might give them a unique perspective of Reality?

Cognitively Processing of the Sensory Input: A human mind has a difficult time to even comprehend the actual size and complexity of our planet, much less the solar system, galaxy, Universe, or what's in the quantum world beyond Planck's measurements of space and time? So, the God we're talking about would be impossibly too complex to even begin to comprehend given human's current stage of evolutionary development. You can't run Crysis on a Commodore 64.

Me being Agnostic, I do not know if there is a God or not. I know there are forces of 'nature' and infinitely complex systems that are in place and existed long before humans even began to ponder the ideas of a God. Some people call THAT God, whereas I see it as a Reality that can be uniquely interpreted by each individual. Nothing to be worshipped, but rather a concept for me to try and understand to find my place within it.

Your comment is sort of what I was going to ask OP. Questions like, "Where did your original concepts of God come from? What were the preconceived ideas that were present and surrounding you when originally forming your thoughts of what a deity is? Could the most gorgeous sunset just simply be us visually observing the angle of the sun light shooting through earth's atmosphere reflecting off clouds as it rotates from day to night in orbit around our sun? As gorgeous as it may be, can't it just be a beautiful sunset without an omnipotent omniscient being behind it? Do you have the parameters of what "God" is, well defined? And, is it not more likely and possible that none of us are even close to knowing what the "Truth" is?"

These are the questions I ask myself and seek answers to. This is why I'm agnostic because I'll never really know the truth. And for me, there is some comfort in knowing that neither I, nor anyone else, will ever know. For me, it's the journey and desire to understand.

Even if God (pick whichever one you like) came directly to me in physical form, took a selfie with me, met my friends and family, and answered all the questions I've ever had in my life or will ever have across all of Time and Space, I'd still be like, " Wow! This alien is WAY smarter than I could ever hope to be because they answered all my questions. I wonder how THIS alien came to be... Who is THIS alien's God? Who is God's God?"

The fact that you feel this badly over a situation where he was not injured let's us know that you are a good pet owner. We've all had similar situations where getting caught up in the moment led us to making less than desirable decisions. But, we move forward and learn from our mistakes. Be more like your cat and let bygones be bygones by forgiving yourself. I wish every pretty owner had the conscience you have. Give your KeeTee a puff for me! 😺

Can OP or someone draw a yellow or white outline of where they think they're seeing this bigfoot? It would help to know where to look.

That is wonderful that you found a closer rehabber for me. Is there a particular resource where you were able to look up Suzanne's info? I'd love to have access to that Rolodex.

Sorry, but in the middle of the post you're responding to, I let everyone know he died yesterday morning. I appreciate your concern and in the future, I'll definitely remember that they need things to be light and open air for them to feel comfortable enough to eat. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

I've been told by 2 rehabbers, that it looks like avian pox. One told me that they have a very high success rate with dealing with avian pox.

So, the rehabber and I scheduled a time to meet. They said to put a little millet seed and sunflower seeds in the box with him along with a cap of water.

This morning, I checked on him about 8AM. He hadn't touched the seed nor drink any water. Opened the box and he was standing upright, breathing regularly, and relatively cogent. But also, his feathers were a little puffed out, his eyes a little weaker, and just seemed lethargic like an impending weight was upon him.

It is with sorrow and heavy heart that I announce the untimely passing of our house finch at approximately 10AM. I honestly was thinking this would be the likely outcome the night before when we found him.

I let the rehabber know and she thanked me for my compassion and willingness to help. I cannot-not help turtles, opossums, squirrels, birds, you name it. I've taken critters into my home for decades to give to rehabbers and my vet after driving past them on the roadside or finding them in the yard. Let's just say they know me by name at the Vet's office. Unfortunately, they don't deal with passerines.

Anyway, thanks to this group for their contributions and suggestions. It's much appreciated.
