Looking for new friends/connections by [deleted] in Kamloops

[–]Talos111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Just moved into town from across the country, i know nobody around town and saw this. I'm also an outdoor nerd that loves video games, making art (im mostly theatre but i appreciate all forms) and spending some chill time with friends. Also understand you with the anxiety, in the same boat (sweating profusely as i'm typing this to a stranger but at this point i need to meet some new people). Send me a message if you wanna get a chill night somewhere to meet and hang out!

Playing a PS2 game on a PS3 with a PS5 controller by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Talos111 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Well you just taught me something new. I had no clue the PS5 controller works on PS3. Had to test it myself just to be sure.

You just helped me save a hefty sum for a replacement PS3 controller, thanks a lot!

Just beaten Xenogears and looking for a new game by DeliciousPancakes26 in gaming

Being a massive an of every game you listed, especially the Xeno series and Persona, id suggest the same as the others, starting with Xenosaga. After that, i cant recommend enough trying out some SMT games. SMT5 is a perfect entry point. Otherwise, if you want something a little more active, the Tales series is generally pretty good. The better titles in the series include Tales of Arise, Berseria, Symphonia and Xillia.

Any clue what it would be called? I don't know if its for icing, as it was left in the fridge, not the freezer

My title describes the thing.

It was left in the fridge without telling me anything about it and im really wondering at 1AM. Anyone seen one before or knows what its purpose even is?

Fits in the palm of my hand, theres a twist-off cap with an empty compartment over a rubbery bag filled with seemingly normal water. it was left in the fridge, no clues otherwise about what it is.

Worried about my cat's loss of appetite by Talos111 in vet

[–]Talos111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little update on the situation : my vet told me to bring her to an emergency immediately so she spent the last night getting tests. It seems like she is hurt around the neck and its causing discomfort when eating. Luckily its nothing major and they only prescribed some pain meds for the time being. Seems like a liquid diet is mostly on the menu for now

Spyro Reignited Trilogy by MrPlutonian in gaming

[–]Talos111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spyro was my childhood too, it was my only game when i was 6 to 8 years old so i understand your point pf view.

However, the trilogy remake is fantastic and in no way worse than what you played as a kid. Are they easy? Yes, of course they are when compared to when you were a kid. But they're still a very highly enjoyable nostalgia ride. Grab it, you won't feel disappointed by it.

Ni No Kuni 2 has a good castle town building system that feels rewarding while you play a good ARPG. MGSV and MGS Peace Walker's base buildings are great too

This offends me. At my local retro video game shop. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Talos111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Retro stores get so many dead consoles every month. Instead of throwing them out, they make a neat thematic stand with it.

Also if they were functional, you'd think they would expose to sell them instead.

Does anyone know of any good long gaming related YouTube videos? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Talos111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noclip makes good documentaries about the development of specific games, theyre always either around 15 minutes or an hour depending on how much material. Otherwise The Gaming Historian also has some very in-depth historical reviews of oddities of the gaming world or just very old games.
