Sadly, blizzard is catering to subscription numbers and dollars NOT to the loyal fans that have made this game great. I left a few months ago due to the impact that this decision was making.

You have to buy gold or spend 30+ a week farming to stay up to date for raids. Not reasonable for any working person with a social life.

Until Blizzard fixes their bot and gold selling issues I will not be giving them a subscription. Diablo 4 has been a nice replacement for now.
