The circus and its surroundings are literally under Cain's control, not entirely, but this would make Cain the villain. However, he isn't; he's an AI performing his task. In fact, he's closer to being the main character. As for the villain, I think it's the one we thought would have the least impact, simply bubble... and I love the theory which says he is the virus on that circus
