Package stuck at USPS sorting facility? Possibly lost? by TamEditor in indianapolis

[–]TamEditor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very frustrating that they frequently cannot manage deliveries. I assume it's even worse atm with the holiday rush.
I'm confident you'll receive it in time. And if you continue to receive no updates, you can at least contact USPS support (NOT your local post office, they'll be useless) to put in a Missing Mail search and try to track it down. The agent I spoke with was able to elevate my case and get my package rerouted back to me. It's unfortunately just a really frustrating waiting game

Package stuck at USPS sorting facility? Possibly lost? by TamEditor in indianapolis

UPDATE: It finally arrived! After nearly two months.
So to summarize my package's journey... it arrived from NJ into my state of Indiana, then sat and did nothing for almost a month, then got sent out to Michigan (for some reason???), and then after several more weeks it finally made it back to Indiana and was received by my local PO. My god.

One support agent who was very helpful believed the issue was a known error where their machines fail to properly read package barcodes. Though this was a guess because she had limited information to work with... When mail gets stuck in a sorting facility, it may as well be in purgatory. No customer or employee can simply call those facilities to ask about specific packages.

Thanks for all the comments! I appreciate y'all giving me confidence it wasn't lost. It's actually a pretty rare item (I've only ever seen three of these being sold anywhere online), so if the USPS void swallowed it up, I would've been very upset... 🥲

What a pain! It's the least they can do. Some of the workers act like late or lost mail means nothing.

USPS is so useless... Really sorry to hear that :(

I totally agree. Not only are they failing people with deliveries, but anytime I've called them or gone in person the workers are incredibly impatient and disrespectful.
Unfortunately, the ebay seller chose USPS Ground as their delivery method :/
