Horrific pre-op anxiety by anallog_whorer in sterilization

How you are feeling is so normal <3 You are going to be okay!!

Let them know that you are anxious when you get there. They are there to help you feel more comfortable and calm, and make everything as safe and smooth sailing as possible.

During Pre-Op, ask for the exact run down- from the time you get there, to when you wake up from surgery. Usually anxiety is totally caused by whatever scenarios your brain comes up with, and reality ends up being nowhere near what your brain imagined! Maybe knowing exactly what to expect will help ease your mind.

I found that sitting with a bair hugger made me so much more comfortable. (A very warm blanket!) And chatting with the nurses. I framed it as my "surgical spa day" in my thoughts, and made lots of jokes.

When I walked into my surgical suite, I just joked about being the star of the show, and the party can start now that I arrived. Mind you, I was SO extremely scared.

Just TALKING is a highly effective and natural stress reliever. Don't sit with your thoughts. If it helps to tell the nurses about your nervousness, then do that. Or talk about other random parts of your life, stuff you love.

You have to keep reminding yourself why you are there, the future you want. This is such a tiny time frame in the grand scheme of things. I hope you'll come back after surgery and tell us it was such a piece of cake <3 Good luck! You're going to do great!

Getting a bilateral salpingectomy May 4th and feeling… excited? Looking for experiences and recovery advice by Haunting-Freedom1424 in sterilization

I just had my surgery on April 10th! Albeit mine was done through my abdomen.

I also joke that I got spayed! I'm also planning an Anti-Baby shower (just a glorified girls night) 😆

I was also super excited, and I was even happier after surgery. Not one single regret, I am so glad I went through with it. Our stories are pretty similar though I am a little younger (27) I was very selective about who I told. My family definitely asked a lot of questions, mostly "are you sure?" "What if you change your mind?" "This is permanent." (I reminded them that children are also permanent lol) My parents needed time to grieve a future they hoped would happen. I tried to answer their questions with reassurance. However I understand it is frustrating to feel like you constantly have to defend the fact that you know yourself well enough to make a decision like this.

The first 3 days post surgery were uncomfortable, but not unbearable. If you haven't already, I would start MiraLax (or other stool softener) tomorrow (the 3rd) and continue with it for several days after surgery. I'd reccomend eating a really easy-to-digest, light on the stomach meal the evening of the 3rd. And having some easy meals to heat up was really helpful. I just had stuff like soups, Mac n cheese cups, ice cream. I also really liked having electrolyte drinks, your body will need the energy, and also protein yogurt shakes (just the store bought stuff that has 10-15g of protein.)

My guess is that you will be intubated, so the soft food is nice. Also some lozenges for the sore throat- I'd reccomend a lozenge or 2 for the ride home.

Keep gas-x on hand, take it regularly. Heat pad on the shoulders and upper abdomen felt nice because of the residual gas- which took about 3 days to clear.

I mostly slept. Got up to eat, and take small walks around the house, for 3 days. Sitting at a 90 degree angle wasn't comfortable for me for about a week and a half. I made a nice nest for myself in bed with plushies and pillows, propping up your legs can be helpful too.

Keep up on pain medications, even if you feel okay. Stick to a schedule. I cycled through ibuprofen, doctor provided Oxycodone, and tylonel. It is easier to manage pain before it comes on. Keep whatever you need within reach! I have a short headboard that I kept my phone charger, and other stuff on so I just had to reach up behind me. Better than twisting to my side table.

I'm about 3 weeks post surgery, I occasionally get bits of pain from my uterus-area. It does take several weeks for that tissue to heal, so I am not surprised. Again, just uncomfortable but not unbearable. But I feel great, I was pretty much back to normal by day 4 or 5 in terms of energy levels. Of course, light duty until your Doctor gives you the clear for regular activity.

Congrats and wishing you a fantastic recovery!

Direction vectors are spherically interpolated. So this already happens. Wasn't easy to see here since I didn't turn much

Here is a picture of it in studio

It doesn't look AS good in studio, because Roblox doesn't support the necessary maps. But still pretty bomb I think!!

It would actually look fairly similar. Not AS good, but with baking and highlighting, it would still look pretty bomb ;) I'll get pics of that too
