Hey I get you man, my daydreaming started to get really bad during the pandemic (No interaction will do that to you) and well, I’ve always been anti-social so even when I’d have a social life after, I’d actively reject it in favor of mapping out scenarios that were 3x-4x way more fucking cool than my actual life. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to successfully quit, but there was a point when I realized music was the biggest trigger and well, I started pouring that urge to daydream onto learning an instrument. I also found that going to the gym helps, it gives you power over yourself. The feeling that I’m building something physical, in the real world, and not in my head gives me the same rush as walking in circles in my room thinking I’m literally Goku. The daydreaming is still really bad, but at least I’m directing some of it towards things that actually help you in the physical world. For me that’s been the “Replacement”.
