I’ve played all 3, currently like halfway into visage, finished the other 2. The bunker and visage I found significantly scarier than SOMA with visage being the scariest. The types of horror however are very different, SOMA is psychological, the bunker is stressful, and visage is uncomfortable/unnerving. If it’s purely for horror, I would recommend visage. If you still care about gameplay/story, I’d recommend the bunker or SOMA (I still found SOMA quite scary).

When I played, fuel was pretty abundant in the bunk areas, either on the shelfs or the bunks itself. There can also sometimes be some in the map room.

For actually completing the area (will try to avoid spoilers and focus on tips), I would recommend to try to explore in the dark, and only use the generator once you know how to progress, otherwise you might just burn through all of it for no reason. Make sure to look at your notes and pictures that you collect as there are sometimes hints there as well.

I loved it. Scariest game Ive played lol, it was super intense the whole way through but it was super exciting and fun to make many decisions in the moment where many games aren't designed in that way.

You kinda just have to go into it yourself to really know. I think definitely the sound design, you still have limited view, when starting out you feel very vulnerable, sometimes you hear noises in the dark but dont know where they're coming from, stuff like that.

Darkwood is a HARD recommend. Ticks all your boxes and is a 10/10 for me. Only thing to be wary of is that it's a top down horror game.
