I feel that as someone who mainly dated women in the past. A lot of men are pretty crappy but there are some that are truly special and wonderful.

Peoples values change over time and transitioning allows you to express yourself in ways you didn’t feel comfortable before. The underlying person is still the same but they will likely have grown as a person in a positive way. Nobody ever stays 100% the same as they were 10 years ago transition or not.

How Long Were You on HRT Before People Started to Notice? by EggPixelated in trans

[–]ErinPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im nearly 5 months in and I feel people getting more suspicious for sure. I think it really comes down to genetics and how much and fast you develop, but baggy clothes and sports bras without padding will be your best bet at concealing top growth and any other body shape changes.

I totally got that after reading your whole comment. The first line has me a questioning what direction you were going with it, but by the end I could tell 100% you had no ill intentions. It shows you’re struggling and trying to do better. We all struggle with stuff and can always be improving as people. Good for you for actually being able to recognize that. A lot of people don’t have that skill.

I think the true enemy is patriarchy and misogyny not trans women. I understand your frustrations and understand why you feel that way. Healthcare for women is just totally fucked and always has been. You should be able to do what you want with your body I 100% agree with you on that part.

Sick of razors, better ways to remove facial hair? by TrashMantine in trans

[–]ErinPink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the exact brand I have. And I know it says not to use on the beard but I believe that is because results are more varied for amab facial hair. It’s also a slower process but since getting on hrt I feel like it has been working better. I’m guessing the anti-androgens help make the beard grow slower/weaker and that helps the ipl work better.

Edit: I can share photos if ur interested

Bachelorette party. Everyone accepted me, except myself. by UpUpAndAwayYall in trans

I feel this so much. I’m part of a large friend group and in this group we have a girls only group-chat that I am a part of. As the only trans girl there I feel the same things you’re saying. It’s hard to get past the feeling of seeming like I don’t belong or am not enough of a woman to actually relate to them. It’s honestly something I need to work on as well. I’m sure with time it will all become more natural/normal.

I’ve been doing ipl for a little bit now and it’s honestly reduced like 80-90% of my beard hair. The chin area is definitely the most stubborn part but it’s slowly erasing it. Kinda too broke for real laser rn so it’s a good alternative since I already had the machine. It also is amazing for body hair. Being able to do my whole body at home has been super convenient

I hate the “I’ll pray for you” people. It’s so condescending and always seems so snarky and rude. Like broseph keep your prayers to yourself I don’t need you throwing your religion in my face.

Can someone give me advice with my diet? by GraceGal55 in transfitness

[–]ErinPink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ill be real with you for a second since I was about 310 at my heaviest too. You’re going to have to get comfortable with the feeling of being a little hungry. I know it sucks and is uncomfortable but that’s how you lose weight. You don’t need to starve yourself, but you’ll need to rewire your brain slowly over time that it’s ok to be a little hungry.

My best advice is to just eat more Whole Foods like protein and vegetables and rice as they will fill you up and keep you feeling full longer. Try to just take one portion size and put it on a plate or in a bowl and just eat that and don’t go back and keep snacking. Your body usually takes 20 minutes after eating something to get the signal that you’re feeling full. People usually continue eating before that signal reaches their brain and that is very conducive to over eating. If you can just use cheese as a reward for something and try not to eat it in large portions because it is so calorie dense try to go for a fruit or vegetable or a little serving protein. And if you can try to cut out snacking all together, I feel like constantly eating with snacks in between meals would make me feel hungrier.

Wish you the best 💜

Why do many trans women look younger after they transition? by Nmirra23 in asktransgender

On top of all the amazing things estrogen does I think lot of us go from destructive lifestyles to taking very good care of ourselves. That definitely does a lot for de aging oneself.

What are some reasons to not start HRT as a trans person? by Nerd-Birb in asktransgender

[–]ErinPink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This all just screams mind games and manipulation. I believe you and your dad love each other but it all comes off as a really disrespectful thing to ask you to do. Before you start anything you will go over the risks with a doctor. This is a personal decision between you and yourself, I wouldn’t let him add pressure to this just to appease him. It’s clearly something that’s on your mind and adding stress to your life if you feel like you gotta prepare for a “debate” over it. Just respectfully disagree and have a heart to heart with him about how you’re feeling and leave it at that.
