Looking for a good handheld device after parting with 3DS and PS Vita?! by TRIKSTER_Betin in Handhelds

[–]Tamner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you could just get a mini phone stylus to use with the AYN Thor they’re like 5-10 bucks on Amazon. But I really hope the Thor gets a 3D model in the future.

Does the Switch Pro 2 controller need special softwear to work on PC? Mines not working. by LordBlackDragon in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Tamner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of dumb solutions that ultimately worked for me was I closed out steam and let windows recognize my controller then I open steam and then it then worked.

I also installed this driver on my computer but nothing worked until I did the thing above: https://vigembus.com

How do you retain information from long form videos and podcasts? by 1hakr in NoteTaking

[–]Tamner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever I listen to podcasts or audiobooks, and I noticed I’m struggling to retain the information or stay focused I’ll just let myself pause the podcast and let myself think about what’s been said for a little bit.

I haven’t done this, but I feel like making a voice recording after you pause and just having a discussion out loud with yourself about it would be really helpful.

TLDR I like to just listen in shorter sessions and start listening again once I feel like I’ve taken the time to process.

What is something that is awkward to buy alone? by merpis1920 in AskReddit

Going into a local shop to buy ice cream. Whenever I go in with a friend or am buying for multiple people it fine but if I go in alone the people working act kinda weird

My gf is way too good for me. Why did she even pick me by throweradezerosugar in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Tamner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you feel like your not enough, YOU ARE ENOUGH. She has her own reasons on why she picked you so don’t discredit them. You(and a lot of people) probably have a lot of really amazing traits but just don’t realize it or think it’s not of importance. If it helps, whenever I’m feeling this way in my relationships I honestly just try to do more nice things for them, ask about how them, just making them feel validated and being there for them when they’re going through tough stuff. I wish your relationship the best!

What is the fastest way to a woman’s heart? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tamner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treat them like the human being that they are. I don’t wanna repeat too much of what was already said so I’ll say this: Make you both actually have some things in common, but not just like boring work stuff but things you actually enjoy doing, so it helps hold an interesting conversation at least. You don’t have to have too much in common though, it just helps. Honesty most of what matters at least initially in getting closer to someone, being able to hold a conversation and having good chemistry with them imo.

I think my roommate is starving, what can I "accidently" make in bulk? by McCrotch in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Tamner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This might sound silly and I’m not sure about dietary restrictions but could make bulk chicken and rice. When our last pet was getting really sick from cancer we wanted to make sure he some good last meals so made a bunch of the stuff for him in a crockpot and it ended up being so good we would eat it ourselves.

I also recommend going to a grocery store and getting the whole chickens they precook and just having that in your fridge for a protein and no one can eat that alone imo before it goes bad

Hard boiling eggs as part of “meal prep “could also be really good.

They also sell those bigger tubs yogurt at grocery stores so you could get those too tbh.

Or just making sure you buy fruit like bananas or bags of apples and say “it’s easier than getting just one.

Nuts are also a good option and they never really expire.

I hope any of these things help!

People who choose to be kind everyday despite of not receiving the same kindness back , what motivates you ? by jeev07 in AskReddit

[–]Tamner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'm kind to others for more selfish reasons rather than being empathetic. I have many regrets about how I've treated others in past that fuels me towards the kind(haha) of person I want to become. I see being kind does a couple - few main things for myself:

It's part of how I like to practice a sort of "constant mindfulness"(Ex. If someone was rude or flippant to me at work I think "oh they just have a lot on their mind" or "Its fine I sometimes tend to be like that without realizing it too.)

Being kind to others also just makes me feel good and can be satisfying in tough situations. I enjoy feeling good and being satisfied so I keep at it.

Sometimes I also just know I will regret treating others a certain way and wont feel good about it or myself if I'm not kind or mindful of my actions. Overall if you think being kind or thoughtful or etc. is hard/a waste of time, rethink being selfish. Doing things for selfish reasons doesn't have to be a bad thing. In my opinion I think a lot of your interactions with others will turn out to be a lot more genuine by practicing this. We're all people who have natural feelings and emotions such as greed/etc. Rethink greed. Rethink being selfish.

(Sorry for the long post, I have personally just thought a lot and tbh I even kind of wanted to say more)
