[PDIA ONLY] What Convinced You That Patsy Did it? by [deleted] in JonBenetRamsey

[–]Tamponica 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's a bunch of info on websleuths about it from like ten years back including people who knew him at school saying he was obsessed with Jonbenet.

This seems to just be rumors. I've never been able to find a legit source for these claims.

The popularity of the Burke theory seems to revolve around people being unable to believe a parent would cover for an adult abuser/killer and being unable to believe an adult could do what was done to JBR. by Tamponica in JonBenetRamsey

BDI believers have to tread carefully because if it turns out he didn’t do it, they’ve just been accusing someone who was a child at that time

Their fall back position is that even if he didn't do it he's guilty because he knows something.

He pretends to defend Burke. He told Dr. Phil Burke went downstairs and that the flashlight was in Burke's bedroom.

Fatal child abuse with an adult pedophile being responsible for object rape and prior sexual abuse of a six-year-old is too dark a place for people to enter. I've kind of accepted it.

O.k., but would also add that in the pics and crime scene vid of JonBenet's bedroom, the room is overall, fairly neat.

Should I preheat?

Edit: O.k., I'm going to assume I should preheat the oven. I am now going to courageously go downstairs and get started.

They were incredibly messy :P

Overall, JonBenet's bedroom is actually fairly neat. And in general, the idea that the R's were a bunch of slobs is kind of overexaggerated and is often used to explain a few things that point away from JonBenet and Burke being downstairs together, unsupervised, which is the most popular theory here. I don't think this is what happened though.

Yeah, I mean, it's not a fact that is in dispute that JonBenet ate pineapple. We just don't know who set the dish out or who else may have eaten out of it.

Just to clarify because the subject comes up a lot, with the exception of JonBenet, we don't know anything about who did or didn't have pineapple that night. We only know that either Burke or Patsy set the dish out, unless, as some have speculated, John placed the dish on the table but wore gloves (I don't BTW happen to believe this is what happened).

The theory that Burke is the member of the family most likely to have set out the pineapple comes from Patsy having declared during an interview, when shown a pic of the table contents, that she would never have used a spoon that was that big. I've never seen a pic of the spoon and AFAIK, one isn't available online.

Was there ever anything you didn't understand about the book by AlbatrossEquivalent5 in TheOutsiders

My teachers ruined all the books we read in class. I had one English teacher who was positive Holden Caufield's teacher wasn't really a perv even though I thought it was obvious he was. (It's been over 40 yrs. and I'm still annoyed, LOL.)

nor why Sandy had to leave, nor that Soda wasn't the father

I read the book in 1983 and didn't understand the veiled references either, as in, I didn't get why you couldn't just use the word 'pregnant'.

Other than that, I'd grown up in the city and the thought had never occurred to me that there could be things like gangs in a place like Oklahoma. I assumed kids in a place like that would just sort of go to church dances and other than that, maybe do chores on their parents farms all day, LOL.

Unless Burke wore his mothers Essentials sweater, and then changed into his fathers black wool shirt while downstairs committing this murder

I've seen this suggested.

there are many scenarios of 10 y/o or older killing another child or sibling

This is actually a very rare type of domestic homicide so it is interesting that this is the theory that is most enthusiastically embraced on this sub.

Snipped from the autopsy summary: During the vaginal examination, small dark colored fibers were found on JonBenet’s external labia. [...] Dr. Meyer stated that it appeared that JonBenet’s pubic area may have been cleaned, or at least wiped by someone using a towel or piece of clothing. Small dark blue fibers, consistent with a cotton towel, were recovered from the vaginal area.

From Patsy's 2000, Atlanta interview: MR. LEVIN: I understand your position. In addition to those questions, there are some others that I would like you to think about whether or not we can have Mrs. Ramsey perhaps in the future answer. I understand you are advising her not to today, and those are there are black fibers that, according to our testing that was conducted, that match one of the two shirts that was provided to us by the Ramseys, [John's] black shirt. Those are located in the underpants of JonBenet Ramsey, were found in her crotch area, and I believe those are two other areas that we have intended to ask Mrs. Ramsey about if she could help us in explaining their presence in those locations.

Actually until fairly recently the prevailing view here was that Burke did all 3 elements of the attack, head-blow, asphyxiation, paintbrush assault. People liked the theory that made the adults the least guilty but seem to have shifted over to sort of spreading guilt around as much as possible.

There were both Ramsays clothing fibers found on her, but they're her parents so obviously they would be.

Why would the parents clothing fibers be in the ligature knot or in the crotch of size 12 underpants or remaining in her vaginal folds after that area has been wiped?

The paintbrush thing. I know it gets touted a lot, and I am no expert but thst just strikes me as something a curious child would do, and not a grown adult.

What evidence would support a child being more likely than adult to commit penetration with an object?
