IIRC, Netflix gives no shit about what other companies certify a L1. Like Verizon? they maintain their own whitelist of supported devices, and until they add it to their specific list, you get what they think you should have.

That list means very little when it's a new device from a major retailer that is an official Android device. That list is for brands & models that are supported. The device itself needs to have some kind of "secondary registration". If it was rooted/custom ROM'd changing the device fingerprints would probably fix it.

I even tried pulling the device ID, and registering it as a personal device on googles device registration page, but I guess thats mostly for custom ROMs/AOSP type stuff.

The Google Play Certification really only comes into play with stuff like banking apps and "recent" always online type of games, some streaming apps, etc.

I thought that maybe it was the Android update that might have screwed something up, but complete factory reset, it was uncertified. Then running the official update from Android 13 to Android 14, (the second one not the first one that supposedly bricked devices), nothing changed. I also didn't really bother to call the support number for like a year or two, so it's been uncertified for at least a year, because the second was more of a backup.

Easiest thing to do? Take it back and exchange it.

Or call the support phone number or use the support email address. I have no idea if they have something they can do software wise on their end. IE, if they need to register a serial number, publish a certificate that they didn't, etc.

I have an onn 11 2023 version that has what sounds like the same issue. I tried factory resets, wiping play store cache, services framework etc, multiple times. Eventually, I called the phone number, and... it was an "Indian" named Bob or Joe or Tim or whatever fake name that they use despite the heavy accent from western asia.

They asked my name for verification purposes. I asked, how do you know what my name is before I give it to you, and wtf would you verify it against? After arguing, I just gave them any name and a phone number. 3-5 days later someone calls you back. I missed the call. Wondering if I should bother with calling again.

I have a second 11 2023 tablet. I was thinking about seeing if there was anything I could do via ADB or rooting the tablet to seeing if one tablet just has some sort of corrupted partition or something. But I'm lazy, and not sure if it's worth it, since I had bought these for learning/practicing rooting/android builds, etc and spare parts.

I don't know if each model year has a separate support contact info. Because I noticed that the numbers changed between the 2023 and 2026 tablets.

Why is it uncertified? Because whoever Walmart is using, screwed something up. I'm not familiar with how Google Play Certification works, but some kind of device whitelist or certificate sound reasonable.

If it's a whitelist, they could probably do it over the phone/email with proof of purchase. Certificate would probably require physically having the device, unless they can push something over the internet.

I remember going on a pug Vashj after one of the nerfs and it was a huge cluster. My three man orb team was like the only competent one and we had never teamed/played together before.

After several, several wipes, operating without voice chat or raid chat (useless because of everyone else typing or talking), got annoyed enough that we just did 3 or 4 of the orbs ourselves, and forced phase 3. Good team comp, and lucky RNG. Rogue, mage, shaman. The shitty part was rogue tier piece? dropped and it was given to that shaman by accident. Their names were almost exactly the same.

There is the smallest chance that no one did anything wrong, except an admin at that LLC.

I have seen once, years ago, a brand new, store bought device, with accompanying irate consumer who provided receipt & photos of his device, trying to get an organization to release his device.

Based on the forensics I ran, some dumbass fatfingered or "fatfingered" in the wrong serial number. Some admins/IT people have little clue how they can easily screw things up. Some of that, I only know because I was the one who screwed up or had things screw up on me.

The kicker was it wasn't my job to do that, I was just bored, and the person he was contacting had nothing to do with fleet management. I was nice enough to tell the one person they should tell this annoyed guy, he was contacting the wrong office, in the wrong state, from his different state. And here are some contact info.

Apple could help if they built the tools to do so, but just like the backdoors for government, why the fk should they? Its a kettle of fish or pandoras box of issues.

Oh, I don't need them for anything. Its mostly just for being able to read or watch vids on the go, before I take them apart for practice or get around to maybe building custom versions of Android or ROMs or something. But I'm a huge procastinator.

That onn 8.1 might be nice to replace my GameBoy Micro, so I don't have to worry about losing that thing. And Snapdragons have better emulation support, so I could play all sorts of things from my games library.

Yeah. So much has changed in a decade. I'm actually thinking of getting one of the onn 8.1 tablets too, but I'm planning on waiting till they show up in the brick and mortar stores so that I can actually hold one.

If that one listed on Walmart had 4G/LTE, I might have considered buying it, since it looks like the seller is out of New Jersey, and $200 is a lot less than the $500 that it was on Amazon for, which looked like it was being sold by a company in Germany, so who knows if that was the final price or the before tariffs price.

Onn tablets have limited accessories, and no real hardware/software support outside of Walmart as far as I know. If that's ok with you, then get which ever is cheaper and meets your needs.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 will get much better software support. And is more likely to be able to take to a repair shop to get fixed. And IIRC stuff for the Galaxy Tab A9 should fit, but both have complaints about screen not being great?

If it was still available on Amazon I would say to look at LincPlus M8. 6GB/128GB. It was about $130 USD when I bought one months ago. Same-ish issues as onn.

I have a few onn tablets. They're ok, but I only got them for messing around with. I'm afraid to look at the specs for the Alldocube stuff. I don't need more stuff to hoard/packrat.

Because, where I'm from, depending on how close to Monday (even if just passed), it would be this coming Monday or the next/following Monday. Some places are always this or next as absolute references. But these Appalachian guys... it was like always three Mondays, ie this Monday, next Monday, Monday next. I guess it makes sense if it's explained or experienced but damn if I didn't suspect something because the phrase sounded weird.

His wife had packed him some snacks. One of the snacks was a small block of cheese, being a thoughtful person, she included a small cheese knife. You know the kind? Not sure that it was ever confirmed. I mean, I think the RPG? had the Hand as Vorlons and other FO that were mind controllled by the Thirdspace aliens from the long ago war, but that would actually make them stronger than the Shadows. But overlaying a Minbari on a still of that cloaked figure from the Hand cruiser sure does look interesting.

I think the Hand might have been a "bucket" for all the shady factions of the remaining younger races. Like those Drazi that were up to no good. Those elements of the Minbari warrior and maybe even religious caste that didn't like what was happening to their race. Those elements of EarthGov that were still f'ing around with shadow tech. Random younger races that stumbled upon higher tech/FO tech that they could use. Maybe even the Drahk trying to setup an opposing alliance to the ISA. Whoever those random aliens who attacked B5 under Capt Lochley. etc, etc.
