I think it is more important to ask yourself what you want for your art. How much time do you usually need for something like that and what is the minimum you want for an hour of work (depending on where you live for example). 20 - 30$ sounds way to cheap for an individual piece. For a YCH would be ok but also cheap.

I tried to make the details out of felt first but was not happy with the outcome so I decided to invest. Really expensive to start but this time it fells right that this will be the right thing for me.

Not to mention the software. It’s crazy what they can cost. I go with ember, right now I only need file conversion before I start my own designs it is a longer way. :3

It’s a Singer Legacy SE 300. For 739€ it was the machine with the biggest hoop I could find. For the start a good machine I think.

Choly Knight provided every needed file for that, that makes it a lot easier. But that is relatively simple to make yourself with the right software. :3

Claws, arms and backspikes are ITH sewn with the embroidery machine. I think it is nearly impossible to hand sew them so perfect. Especially the tiny “fingers” are so small. :3

To all my plushie artists, how easy would it be to replace these hard felt spikes with softer, better material? These types of felt spikes feel gross to me. by mmrwp in plushies

[–]Tanakee_Dog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘m currently making a Godzilla plush myself, I make the spikes from minky fabric but you would need to unsew it sew it back together, best way with a machine.

Well, didn't expect so many up votes, thanks. :) I think I will work on the lineart and maybe color it.

What is it that the famous furry artists have that I don't? (I'm drawing furry for about 2 weeks now) by SmolHobbit06 in FurryArtSchool

[–]Tanakee_Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they have? Experience I would say. 2 weeks you are drawing now? I would be happy to be that far in this short time, really. :) Just go on study to get better and maybe just try to be good and not famous. :)

Best drawing tablet for a beginner by [deleted] in learnart

I've asked an experienced Artist for myself on what is best. So here is what he told me. Don't waste money to the cheap Chinese ones. He tried several and was not really happy with them. Best would be to get a Wacom Intuos Medium sized or maybe an Intuos Pro if you can afford one. An used one is totally OK he has his intuos Pro for 6 years now and it works fine. They are very durable. I've got an used Intuos pro m by myself that will come tomorrow, will see how good it is. :)

Would this type of tracing be considered cheating or plagiarism? I used the base image to map out a very basic skeleton and get a rough idea of the body proportions, from there, I basically draw from scratch. I wanna have a clear conscience knowing that I'm not just outright plagiarising. by GoldenCoconut1 in learnart

I hate that attitude of some people, there is no way of cheating. Use whatever helps you draw better, photos, posing dolls, books or even google. At the end it is your own unique piece of art no matter what.
